Brick walls is exactly what we have here. Actually i had to demolish walls and even with a 10kg~ (22lbs~) hammer it was hard to tear them down. I can't imagine living in a house where losing balance (being drunk or w/e) might end up in destroying my wall lol.

A common practice in Europe is to have a plate of OSB wood behind the dry wall to prevent the exact thing in the video. It's literally only NA that builds like that because it's a bit cheaper.

As a teacher, I can say we don’t get paid for work during the summer. We get paid for our 9 months of teaching but have the option to get our 9 months payment over 12 months

There are 3 teachers in my family and all of them normally elect to teach summer school or a college class or two during the summer for extra cash. You still even have time to go on a solid 2-3 weeks of vacation during the summer while doing this too.

Drywalls are fairly rare here in Europe, especially in older houses (and there are a lot of those), but even in "newer" homes drywalls are pretty rare, I personally only know 1 building that uses any amount of drywall, and that's partially because it was renovated literally this year

I work for a school. Teachers receive a paycheck, but that money is taken out of their monthly check and then given to them over the months we're off. So, just to clarify and use easy round numbers, if they worked 100 hrs, the check for that month would be for 80 hours and then all the 20 hours of pay that they had held is given to them over summer break. It's one of those things where either way you say it is technically correct. If you say they don't get paid, you're right for the most part. If you say they do get paid, you're right for the most part.

Teachers technically don’t get paid over summer, they have 2 payment options. One is they get paid normally, and the other is that they make less on all their paychecks, and use the money that is taken from those paychecks is given in paycheck form over summer so they aren’t making money the school is just allowing them to have the rest of it

Wish more people understood this. Teachers only get paid for 9 months and can choose to have that payment disbursed over a 40 week or 52 week period. And they need to work extra hours which they get no overtime for and are even expected to work multiple weeks in the summer, again without pay.

In the US, teachers generally don’t get paid for the summer. However they can choose to prorate their pay over the year, and receive some of it in the summer by receiving a lower amount through the year. For example let’s say you earn $36,000 a school year. You can choose to receive either $4000 for only the nine months of the school year, or you can receive $3000 a month throughout the entire year. The amount works out to the same, you just choose when you get it.
