The distribution problem is part of it. No Toys R US means Walmart and Target do not order enough product for everyone. Then the scalpers buy up the best figures and hock them at shows or on Ebay with jacked up prices. The manufacturers also do not have a order from them at reasonable prices feature odd the internet with a one warehouse fulfillment system . The Haslabs are a excuse to move high ticket items .

These companies are raising prices but at the same time giving us lesser and worse quality items. They are cutting too many corners to maximize their profits by making these figures and toys using cheaper plastics so it cost them less money to manufacture these figures and toys then charge us higher prices to increase their overall profits. Then they have poor distribution of these figures and toys to where you cannot even find some of these newer figures anywhere at any stores like Wal-Mart or Target. Then when you try to pre-order figures they are almost always out of stock very quickly. Then on top of that whenever new figures first hit stores the scalpers buy all of the newer figures that are the highest in demand for collectors then try to resale them at prices higher than the stores. Although I never buy from scalpers anyway it just another reason we cannot find certain new figures in stores.

Toy companies that claim "Fan First" don't care about you, they care about your money.

I have seen many companies big and small from different collecting spaces complain and for good reasons. Many companies have been selling products for more but unfortunately the quality isn't matching the price. I have talked with many collectors and they have been telling me about different communities that I'm not so into but they have told me about these things and many people have been slowly moving to other communities. I think that will be going on people going into more affordable communities with higher quality. Cool video. ^_^

Everything is too overpriced now. Toy collecting used to be driven by the emotion of FUN and excitement. You'd have time to buy one figure in a line and then over a few months or a year collect the others shown on the back of the card. Now, if you don't get the entire toy line as soon as it first comes out, you won't get it at all. You'd have to pay three times as much on ebay. Thus, toy collecting today is driven by the emotion of FEAR, fear of missing out.

Facts 💯, It’s a shame man, growing up we used to NEVER have these problems. No such thing as scalping, and everything was a reasonable price, I miss those days. A real lot has changed since around 10 years ago, and it pains me.

They charge the same prices as eBay. Hard to find a decent deal on that site.

If we actually stand together and stop supporting crowd funding items and stop being so gung ho on everything they do for lesser quality and such we could get them all to lower prices and make thing more abundant but we wont unify 😶

Yeah Nike having problems. Maybe they should go back to giving endirsements to only athletes worthy of endorsements. They throw their money away on these lazy uncompetitive n b a players of today that havent done anything in the league yet and a wannabe MJ from Akron, and then jack up the sneaker prices when it doesnt translate to sales. Well now even sneaker collectors are seeing this and stepping back.
