Do they make tires almost specifically for extra slippery conditions and if so do you ride different tires during the rainy season? I imagine you could adjust your tire pressure a little but not all that much as it would change your riding style, which seemed to be the same. Excellent riding on those conditions!
@ddangerousddave3 жыл бұрын
Some manufacturers offer soft compound tires, although I ride the standard version. Tire availability is pretty limited right now, so you have to take what you can get for the time being. I'll usually drop 2psi in each tire during the winter.
@JuanPalomoM3 жыл бұрын
@@ddangerousddave what’s your normal pressure in the dry? I run 40 on the front 43 on the back, and it barely rains where i live, so i never quite know how much decrease in pressure would work (i cant really do back to back tests to get the feel since wet conditions are 1/10th of the time on a rainy year)

Another great vid of some amazing looking trails. Have to say, at least it's soaking wet and not just wet, should be a bit better surface like that. Notice that most of the trail surface is good and your tyres don't seem to get clogged up with mud, so guessing low/no clay content in it, here we have so much clay it sucks when wet, unless absolutely soaking that it's basically water. Guessing that you're running MaxxGripp compound F&R on your setups.? Have to say, vids are a lot nicer to watch now without those angry hornets, curious which hub you are running now? Know it can't be an i9, CK, Hope, guessing maybe it's an Onyx. Oh and love the call out on Dale on that tech climb, at the start of Expresso - LMAO.
@ddangerousddave3 жыл бұрын
We're lucky not to sticky, peanut butter-esque mud here that's for sure. I'm running MaxxTerra. Would like to try MaxxGrip, but my local shop is out of stock at the moment. For the hub, I'm actually still running the I9, but I added more grease a few weeks ago. It's probably muffled by the sound of splashing water haha.
@lynxg46413 жыл бұрын
That's interesting on the hub ands being able to quiet it down so much. I've tried in the past with the previous gen i9 hubs and you still get a set of quieter, but still angry bees. Did a search and found NSMBs Andrew Major has a set that he also managed to quiet down a lot using grease over the oil. Were yours oiled or greased initially?
