Check out our DogGo giveaway at 👉instagram.com/p/C-NdmBzCb8u/ 🐕 I really enjoyed these trails, and the ocean views were pretty distracting too. What other trail networks has a similar trail-quality to view-quality ratio? 🤓

"I don't know the name of this trail, but it starts with an N and I will put it on the screen now." Trail name: K2 I can't laugh too much because I forget trail names all the time. This is a gorgeous set of trails, good and challenging with amazing views.

This made me laugh too, but to be fair to Dale in this case, most of the trails in the riding area have two names. One is the original, and the other is the official name given to the trail by the Capital Regional District (CRD) at the time they became sanctioned. "K2" was renamed to "Manzanita" officially but Trailforks maintains both names, including the CRD name in parentheses behind the original. e.g. "K2 (Manzanita)"

@@idleofthedangerforce yeah I have run into that a lot where traul names are different dependin on the app you use and then when you get there it is marked with a completely different name none if the apps used, Labyrinth at Syncline is a good example of this.

Sooke is such a cool zone, started riding ther 4 or 5 years ago and make a trip each year! Good effort up, for sure!

I am always impressed by your conditioning in these videos - you manage to talk while riding and not seem too short of breath where most people would be wheezing :) it makes for an enjoyable watch. Do you do anything except MTB for cardio training? Cheers

I used to train intervals with a power meter on all of the climbs, along with using a smart trainer through the winter, but now I have a healthy mindset instead. 🙂

Looks like you got perfect conditions, love that zone!

I aspire to ride features with same confidence you do. It is so fun to watch and hear your thought process. Makes me think of my own internal dialogue when tackling new features.

Looked like the perfect trail route for a rider with your skill level. I see why it lived up to your expectations. I’d love to see you do that “lily pad” line when riding with friends, but good call not to commit when solo.

I think that once you "unlock" it, it would actually be pretty easy. But it still looks horrific haha.

Hey Dale what pads and rotors do you use with your Trinitys?

I watch your videos with a great deal of sadness, sadness at how good a rider I would be if I grew up in BC.

Well it's time to turn that frown upside-down, since I grew up more than 4000km away from BC! 😉

You made it back to the island and welcome to harbourview - it's one of my favourites!!

Next you have to ride upper and lower Maple on Maple Mountain. These two trails are like a hybrid of what you rode in harbourview, but mixed with Pandemic in Shawnigan. Sounds like you need to make another trip back!!!
