RMT's always been a great value for the money spent from the beginning. I've got six of their "Beep" diesels and let me tell you, put two or more together and they'll pull anything! I wish they'd start making them again! If you're going to York I'm told Walt Matuch from RMT will be at the Henning's Trains booth so I'm definately stopping by and hoping I can say "Hello!" and "Thank you!" .W\\\\\\\\

Walter (me) is a retired prototype railroad conductor and engineer ..Jersey Central, Rahway Valley, Erie-Lackawanna, Conrail, US NAVY, Kutztown Scenic... that likes and operates o-gauge trains. With over 20 years (since 1991) of model train industry experience , I have used this to create RMT and MAKE AFFORDABLE TRAINS AGAIN. I truly thank Nick for reviewing these freight cars.

Was glad walt sent you a couple of the scale cars. Lots of time put into them. They had to be full scale when we talked about them. The details had to be better than lionel or MTH. The truck details were designed off the old walthers style trucks with all the details and roll much better than most. And the prices had to be less than everyone else..... Hopefully you enjoy all the extra things put into these cars.

You did an excellent presentation of these. Walter Matuch has been providing very reasonably priced 0 gauge products for over 2 decades. He's the last in the line of (now defunct) K-Line and Williams. I'm happy you scale lovers have a new line of Boxcars to enjoy. I'm more enthusiastic about RMT's 36' reefers. I believe this tooling came from K-Line.
@waltermmatuch29312 күн бұрын
All RMT tooling is brand new and made exclusively for RMT by the RMT factory. No K-line tooling is used. Just wait until 2025 for a few more surprises!

No actually RMT has been around for a while. However, a lot of their previously run cars were less detailed and not full scale. The new premium line that they are making is fully scale and has see tons of realistic details every bit as nice as expensive line out and MTH cars, they’re also releasing Woodside reefers arriving this week. And I will be reviewing those as well. I’m really excited to see them.

Those are some nice-looking cars. l like how the paint on the boxcar is done that makes it look like actual metal. I must say I'm surprised. I thought you were going to pitch some kind of locomotives that were unnaturally short and stubby. Hum, scale cars behind unnaturally short locomotives. I don't get it. Spraying the ore loads with Testors dullcote would make them even more convincing by eliminating the plastic looking sheen.
@randyluginbuhl90853 күн бұрын
Always loved RMT and I have many cars and Locomotives in my collection. However, I had trouble with the gauging on the trucks with these ore cars as they will not stay on the track. After contacting Walter in April, I have yet to receive the replacement trucks that were promised.

@RailRide3 күн бұрын
RMT no longer sells direct. You have to get their products from hobby retailers. Henning's and Pat's trains are a couple of them, there are others as well. Any hobby shop that can buy from Emery (the distributor) is a potential RMT dealer. RMT itself _might_ be able to tell you who carries their items in your area (makes sense, but I don't know for certain ).

@RailRide3 күн бұрын
Pretty safe bet they're sticking to 3-rail 'O'. N has a larger market share (#2 behind HO), but there are also a lot more companies producing equipment for that scale.

Changed? - All these types of cars were suppose to contain the older type Bettendorf trucks, not modern roller-bearing. His PS-1's are identical to Lionel's version including the interior load divider and bottom. I would think Lionel will be concerned about this. I always said, there's no reason for OEM scale 40' cars to cost over 40 bucks. We have been getting ripped off for years. Looks like the couplers are better being closer to the body. Nice all around products. I'm sure he will do well with volume buyers! Waiting on a couple Wood Chip Cars soon....I hope? S.
@PghTrainFanatic3 күн бұрын
@@EL-rn2jt not completely true about the trucks. Railroad started converting some equipment to roller bearings in the 50’s. It just wasn’t mandated for a couple decades later. the only thing Lionel should be concerned about is the price tag and it being less then half of theirs for an equally detailed scale car.
@EL-rn2jt3 күн бұрын
Those PS1 cars and schemes only had 2 spring Bettendorfs. His web site shows them as well. 50' cars could have both as Atlas did. Pecos River trucks had stamping on their trucks Both are a nice detail!
