@@dukey19941 -Definitely true. The early gunsmokes and Bananza’s were just a couple of years before me or at the end of their runs when I really started watching tv that wasn’t cartoons or captain kangaroo. It’s amazing how many relevant actors got their starts on those two shows.

I totally agree, he's moreso remembered as Adam Cartwright from Bonanza than Trapper John, MD. although both characters are absolutely awesome but yeah I myself will always first and foremost remember him as my most very favorite member of the beloved Cartwright family as Adam Cartwright, love him also asTrapper but as Adam forever and always but of course everyone to their own choosing

Maybe because I was watching TV at my neighbor’s house in 1959 because they had an RCA color tv that they were very proud of, and Bonanza was one of the very first tv series show in color…. and that as really, REALLY cool to watch. I only know about Pernell Roberts through Bonanza. I don’t even remember anything about Trapper John. Maybe because I discovered girls by the time Trapper John ever existed.

It’s a toss up I’m a fan of Pernell Roberts from Bonanza to Trapper John and later shows and movies Greggory Harrison, I think he’ll always be remembered as Gonzo Gates…. Much like Rob Reiner is remembered as the Meathead…. But he’s been in other shows and movies too…. The only thing that wasn’t done was an appearance of Hawkeye in an episode of Trapper John, MD…. Why not? Could have been a ratings boost for the show!
