Hmmm Renee's garden use to have another name I have a catalog somewhere from the 1980's =) I no longer purchase seeds from that company as the germination rate has changed & the amount of seeds per packet is low. Eden Brothers is where I get most of my seeds along with Seed Savers that has been around for decades . I realize that a promotion article for Renee's is making the rounds but hey I'm just saying I bought from the original seed Co & after the name changed. It was called Shepard Seeds the first company lol =)

@@illusionary5951 I thought they had been around since I started gardening in the early 90s, but I definitely remember buying Shepard Seed packets back then, so maybe it is the same company. In any case I bought them from local shops, not mail order. They always had beautiful illustrations.

I know that everyone (this was me included) wants to show pictures of the biggest fruit or veg they've grown, but I have come to looooove compact crops because of the reasons you mentioned. Even here in MD, I know that as soon as winter is "over" we'll get maybe 2-3 weeks of a spring rainy season, then bam, high summer heat from May through August. It's nuts.

Vegetables started peppers, tomatoes, and squash (acorn and pumpkin) because those take 120 days to mature. Will start the rest including loofahs end of April. Planting outdoors doesn't happen till after Mothers day to the first of June for my area. 😊just going to have to enjoy your garden.

Hey lady! Oy vey, seed starting is tricky and I've been where you are plenty of times. Don't beat yourself up about it. I'm a much better late spring/ early summer planter than fall planter for sure. You still have plenty of time to get things going, and goodness, with the price of starts at garden centers (in my neck of the woods single herbs are selling for nearly 6 bucks!!!) growing from seed is still your most cost effective option. Give yourself some grace and, as you mentioned, start after Mother's Day. You've got this!
