West coast of Scotland really holds top spot in my heart😊. Did have some family who lived on Bute. Many happy days spent at Ettrick Bay. Then there's the sands of morar,have you stopped off at arisaig marina ? The best fish and chips we've ever had were from the fish shop in Mallaig at the end of the railway from Fort William. As we watching your film you've just mentioned Rothesay and port Bannatyne! Thank you for putting your voyage out on KZbin. Port Bannatyne is where I slept in,a bed in a wall, common practice, apparently. Always feels like coming home when driving off the ferry onto Bute. We shall work through the rest of this magic channel and watch your trips and destinations. Fair wind and fair sailing 🫡👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Fraser. Many thanks for your kind words and my apologies for the very late reply. For some reason, I hadn't seen your post until today. We haven't been to Arisaig yet but hope to in the future. It's always nice to rewind time a few months and watch a sailing video. Good to see you got a breeze from astern up Kilbrannan sound. I read it's either behind or ahead of you there. I may be there myself soon. Ive never been that way before, been to Campbeltown once.

Hi Mike. I think you’re right about the wind in the Kilbrannan Sound. We’ve been north twice from Campbeltown and had the wind behind us both times, albeit SE the first time and SW the second. We lost the wind on both occasions approaching the north end of Arran which was a little strange. The harbour staff in Campbeltown respond to the mobile phone number rather than a call on VHF. They gave us a proper inside berth last time which was very nice. Have a good trip if you decide to go 👍🏻

Yes, can’t believe how bad the weather turned after 19th June when we launched! We had some miserable passages on the way to Scotland and some bleak periods of weather after we got there. Fingers crossed for something better this year!
