Nice Vid SR! I have one question tho: is it possible that YX from Toy box was a past version of him and after the events in Toy Box he went back in time further to live through the events of 3D? I mean I have little information about this but it seems YX in Coded's SE was a little green however once we see him in 3D he's collected and a master planner. There's an inconsistency with that (then again most of 3D is confusing).

Major major TWEWY spoilers, but Joshua's "I'm kind of omniscient" comment is rather right on the nose for his role in that game, since he's... heavily implied to basically be god. Or at least a god. He is disillusioned with humanity, and is basically competing with the other reapers to decide the fate of the world- if his chosen champion (Neku) wins the reaper's game, humanity is destroyed. If Neku loses, the day is saved. This is why the reapers go to such tremendous lengths to disqualify Neku's victories on technicalities over and over and over again- they know if he wins, their boss will hit the kill switch on the entire world. The dire threat Joshua's nihilism posed is only averted because Neku's character growth over the course of the story reawakened Joshua's faith in humanity. That said, I can absolutely buy that he'd break the rules established for the Sleeping Worlds by Dream Drop Distance. He's not talking circles of convoluted dream world logic when he says "I'm kind of omniscient," he's being absolutely literal. Which honestly makes that line sort of kodak moment, since the little twerp is NEVER that straightforwardly honest about anything.

Makes sense he'd do it with Sora though; everything always seems to go over Sora's head, and if Joshua knows this (guessing he would), he'd have little problem saying stuff like that to Sora. Just my two cents, but I'm also a little rusty on this stuff.

It's not made entirely clear, but my read is that Joshua's a sort of probationary angel - has never been higher than Composer - unlike the Producer who is an angel, and has access to angelic powers to transit freely between parallel worlds and to craft imagination into tools.

I think I was unclear sorry! I HAVE played TWEWY, I know the cutscenes and I have read the secret reports-- but only once or twice. So I know who/what Joshua is, I know how vibes work, I know about parallel universes. But all those things are what I was talking about when I said Shibuya may just have its own world order that doesn't effect all other worlds. The reason I say I'm not as well versed in TWEWY lore as I am in KH lore is because with TWEWY, I can't recall WHEN exactly a specific detail was said by a certain person. But with KH, it's like "I know Mickey mentions this detail in 0.2 after Aqua talks to Terra's heart."

While watching your video I could have sworn you were going to mention that Joshua had possibility hinted at Yozora's existence in DDD and compared him to Riku. Riku:"So...you think I'm a dreamer?" Joshua:"Every human being is a dreamer. I had a friend once who said he never dreamed of anything, but it turned out that his were the most powerful dreams of all. you sort of remind me of him." that was the Yozora hint, we didn't know who Joshua was referring to at the time. But as we know, Yozora (and Noctis versus XIII) have very powerful dreams. since Limit Cut revealed that Riku's dreams leads to dream worlds like Shinjuku just like Yozora I think it's safe to say that Joshua really was saying Riku reminds him of that certain friend Yozora. it also helps links to your theory of Joshua telling Yozora to save Sora.

Oh that's very interesting! I know a lot less about FF Versus XIII than usual, so I'm glad you mentioned this to me! Very very interesting. I was thinking about this may play into "A fantasy based on Reality" as well as "Don't assume your dreams are just fantasy. If you can imagine a world, believe in it...and dive in.", but I left it out of the video because I didn't think it was concrete enough. Still though, VERY interesting if Joshua was referring to Yozora (especially cause Yozora literally looks like Riku lmao). That also may give the video some sense of a timeline, in the conclusion I write in the corner "not chronological" because I genuinely couldn't tell if Shibuya was copied into data before or after DDD, but if Joshua knows Yozora, it'll be interesting to see how that effects the order of events!

Bear in mind that during the phase of Yozora's boss fight where everything turns white, there's Gigas there as well. If Yozora is projecting his dream, then the Gigas are a part of that dream and not necessarily something from Toybox.

Yes, I believe that Yozora's World is a completely different World-Line as Sora was cast out of the KH World. With Yozora saying he went through "some trials" it does line up somewhat with the Reaper's game but he never mentions having a partner, so this may be similar but playing by new rules. IE, this is neither the KH version of TWEWY Shibuya not the real TWEWY Shibuya. Along with him "Accidentally" wondering to this place as well as a version of the Final World it seems Yozora may have an equivalent to the Power of Waking/Dream Walking. Perhaps if this was a world "close enough" to TWEWY and Neku may have been able to pass along a message to an alternate self? I believe the "bad" ending of Limit Cut where Sora is crystallized to be the true way things are and him waking up in the KH3 "Yozora" ending is directly after that. It would follow his daze and confusion. If you're playing Re;Mind blind then you will surely lose against Yozora and see the "bad" ending so its something that Nomura *wants* you to see. As for the "Good" ending for me its just there for us to hear who could be Luxord. When Fairy Godmother came and said the dreams of Riku could be a link to finding Sora I don't think its exactly because Sora is in a dream world but rather since Riku (as a dream eater) came so close to Sora's heart he has a link. What may be a dream for him is reality for Sora and the latter is *not* in a Dream World. Or put it another way, Sora's experiences in this unknown World could be passively recieved by Riku in an actual dream and not a sleep world. Also, I don't believe the trailer of "Verum Rex" nor the game that Rex and Slinky were playing is the "true" story of Yozora. I thought about how it looked too ... generic jrpg/mobile game promo and with Yozora and his deal clearly being a re-imagining of Versus it would have a more serious tone. The gigas, his two other companions in battle, and the girl may indeed be real but their purposes and/or "true" personalities will be different. (PS I don't believe that bs about KH being a video game in Verum Rex since Yozora didn't recognize Sora, only heard his name)

Re: Verum Rex: I believe Verum Rex in Toy Box is most likely an approximation of FF15 in our real world. It would make a lot of sense as to why Nomura would want to make Verum Rex a metacommentary on what his "Versus XIII" turned into - and what you said in the last line of your post: "The gigas, his two other companions in battle, and the girl may indeed be real but their purposes and/or "true" personalities will be different." This seems to be Nomura's intent - to tell us 'the True King has arrived' when we fought Yozora in Re:Mind.

I think an important detail in regards to the To Story part of this theory is the concept that Toy Box isn't actually a Toy Story world, but a Disney Infinity world. That's based on the fact that Nomura called that world "canon" in the same way BH6 is, despite it clearly not being canon to the plot of Toy Story, and "Toy Box" being the name of the hub in Disney Infinity. If that's correct, which I believe it is, *that* would likely be the explanation for the split Toy Story worlds, the real Toy Story and Disney Infinity

11/10 visuals and quality as always. I think you’re on point with Xehanort splitting traverse town as well as toybox. I noticed the relationship to DDD when I first played through toybox, and was kinda surprised to see that sort of stuff left open for future titles. I also used to think that Riku being in a second layer of dreams in DDD caused there to be 2 separate traverse towns just like the other worlds, but now that I think about it, only traverse town had other people split between the two worlds, and young xehanort’s surprise to see Riku there is also a hint that - in the case of traverse town at least - it is not s part of the “second sleep” Ansem SoD put Riku in, at least to the best of my understanding atm. This is also probably true because Traverse town isn’t a sleeping world to begin with. Wild stuff. Also the Yozora theory sounds cool and plausible.

have you heard this one before? (think social links from the persona series) luxord's wild card was the wild card of the main tarot deck: #0, the fool. basically, the fool is an MC-figure who goes on a journey while knowing nothing, but meets the other cards and learns from them. once the fool becomes the master, s/he takes the world. there's also a #22 fool at the end of the deck that represents the fool at the end of the journey. in KH logic, this could be crown-kid sora obtaining the x-blade and "ruling" kingdom hearts. being a borderline autist for stuff like lists and classifications, I went and classified basically everyone. though roxas and xion probably don't count since their arcs are over. Kingdom Hearts as a series set a precedent 18 years ago for characters from other series (e.g. Final Fantasy and Disney) to be comparable yet different than their original counterparts. Why anyone would disagree with you and believe that The World Ends With You would be treated differently is beyond me. As for Yozora, he also mentions before his fight with Sora that he does not physically look like we see him. So I suspect that a character named "Yozora" somehow became trapped inside of a video game world (comparable to Wreck-It Ralph's world), and from within that video game world he sleeps, he dreams, and his dreams lead him to meet Sora in the Final World (the place where death and sleep nearly touch).

I absolutely love how this channel takes on Kingdom Hearts Theories! It is really cool to see how you break it all down and then build upon it. Dream Drop Distance was always one of my favorite KH games due to the involvement of the TWEWY characters since I played it long before I got into KH. I do like how you mentioned Kingdom Hearts using some of the different worlds logic, but twisting it to better fit with the story KH wants to tell. I can definitely see that, because in DDD it seemed like Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme were all characterized like they were still in their game's storyline but all three weeks were pressed into their characterization at once. However, it always felt like Joshua existed outside of the three week long Reaper's Game. I always thought that the version that existed in the Dream Traverse town were basically a version of each character's entry fee, but DDD just said that the entry fees were their "dreams" as to not get involved with all the TWEWY lore. However it singled out Rhyme in particular because it was heavily implied in TWEWY that her entry fee was her actual Dreams. It can sorta make sense if it is thought about in that way. In TWEWY logic Joshua is dead but still exists, and all the Players in the Reaper's Game are currently in between being dead and alive. Which sorta mirrors the state of the realm of dreams, as it exists between the Final World and the Realm of Light. So, Joshua could potentially remember the events of DDD since his existence in the Dream Traverse Town was his entire self, not a fragment of it. Also, in TWEWY logic Joshua would have complete control over everyone else's entry fee. Which makes sense that he could then draw attention from Young Xehanort, because he is using specifically Rhyme's dreams as a means of travel when he otherwise wouldn't be able to. And just because I am a huge TWEWY nerd, I want to mention that the whole idea of there being two different but coexisting levels of a singular reality (or world for KH) is a very present theme in TWEWY. The whole idea of the RG and UG is the most evident, but also in the original game whenever you fought a battle Neku and his partner would fight in different levels of the world, where they would fight one enemy together across the two levels of reality and how one of them fought would also affect the other despite them not seeing each other in a resonant effect. I could definitely see a similar idea being used for a KH Shibuya and Shinjuku. Anyways, I'm just excitedly fan rambling at this point soooooo... I'm excited to see what other videos you make, your ideas about the KH lore are ones I haven't really seen before and I want to see how you put together even more of the puzzle pieces that is the insanity of Kingdom Hearts!!

At around 7:00 you talk about how Sora glides down into the dream TWTNW, except he's actually gliding into the real TWTNW. Sora starts in the real TWTNW and then is put into a second sleep, leading him into the dream TWTNW, whereas Riku starts in the dream TWTNW and then enters the real one. Nomura says that when you see TWTNW's logo, that's when it denotes when in their stories they are in the real TWTNW. Sora sees the logo immediately upon starting the world, whereas Riku sees it after beating Ansem.

I've always theorized about twewy having a connection to KH before 3D or KH3 when I played it, cuz if u notice, one week mission with beat you will collect an item that is shaped like Kairi's charm, also these black hooded reapers meant to look like KH organization robes; there's some drawing who resembles the KH moon on it, and also if u read the citizens mind there's one specific who talks something that relates to KH, and the vision of the reaper on sky as a moon and everything fits so well with the scene that xehanort created on KH3 to summon kingdom hearts.

15:45 you also have to keep in mind that dream eaters and nightmares go with people who have dreams like how joshua stated in DDD. he says he has plenty of dreams but the implication that he isnt human, meaning he cant dream, will also show that in a dream world copy, it wouldnt have any implications of sora within its own memory. unless his actual form, in TWEWY sorta breaks that rule. we can also infer that while it may have been joshua that sent yozora to get sora, he would have had done something as well to make it possible within his sleeping world

Shibuya being a sleeping world kind of makes sense. After you defeat Yozora and get the "good" ending for Limit Cut, he wakes up in a car with someone who definitely resembles Luxord (or perhaps even his recompleted self). As you put it, Yozora could have the ability to enter the Realm of Sleep, but I think that ability has something to do with the fact that he has different coloured eyes. Eye colour is a big thing in Kingdom Hearts as I shouldn't need to remind you, and he is the first character in the series so far to have this trait. And I also like the idea that it was Joshua who told Yozora to find Sora, it would be nice to see TWEWY to come back to Kingdom Hearts just like the Final Fantasy crew came back in Limit Cut.

This was an amazing video, your art and interpretation of small details are really incredible! 😄 I think my take on the split worlds was that Neku and the crew were taken there by Joshua since he is able to transcend and hop between parallel worlds (noted in TWEWY secret notes), which is my understanding of why he assumes at first that it's a parallel world. I think my interpretation for the split worlds is that the world has its own dream and then Riku is within Sora's. Seeing as time does not flow the same, that's why I think it's a bit confusing for the time differences between the two worlds. You do make a good point though of the events seeming to not line up as well as Young Xehanort's role in both split worlds, so I'm definitely going to look more into your position on it, because it does seem pretty coincidental those line up! For the Yozora and Sora interaction, I believe it was talked about that the developers wanted the Shibuya world to be explorable, so I assumed that secret episode would start when Sora woke up, but that's debatable since it's hearsay. But, what I do find interesting is that both of the endings we see in the Limit Cut episode both seem to start at the beginning of KH1 (with the text and the weird smoke) and the opening of the FFVersusXIII concept (with Noctis waking up in the car), both being the start of each of their adventure, so I'm not sure if that means they restart their experiences in their own datascape or if it's just more of a nod to their beginnings. I sound like a crazy person. Anyways, didn't mean to leave such a long comment, I do have more thoughts no your video, but I'll leave it for another time we can discuss them at! 7:30 I like to think stations of awakening and the final world are exceptions given their closer proximity to death. waking up while lying down may mean a person is currently dead. - sora's first trip to the FW after terranort's mass murder: *dead* - sora waking up in the FW at night in the secret episode: *dead* - sora visiting chirithy in the FW while standing: *alive* - sora going into stations of awakening all while standing: *alive*

First off I love your videos and am always glad to see another one. Your notes on waking up in the sleeping worlds either on the ground or standing up are very cool and I am going to need to check it out myself in case it really is something that is happening. Shibuya and Shinjuku being a sleeping world makes a lot of sense but I have one problem. If it is a sleeping world and Neku, Joshua, and the others are from there they why did they need to go to Traverse Town? Their would was already asleep so couldn't they have just stayed in Shibuya and remade themselves there? It makes far more sense that Shibuya was dropped into a realm deeper then sleep so much deeper that Joshua had to use Traverse Town to give the dreams of his friends form. That said it is also possible that Shibuya is in a state deeper then sleep and Shinjuku is just a step above that. We have had worlds people can go form one to the other before. Neverland and London seem to be two worlds that people can fly to and from. Disney Town and the Country of the Musketeers also seem to have once been two worlds connected until one of them fell into sleep. Even Atlantica seems to be two world that are connected one under the sea, and the other on land. In fact it seems very likely to me that the human world of Atlantica had fallen to darkness before KH1 before being restored at the end of the game. I would even argue that if having two worlds connected in a way that anyone that knows how can go to it that Destiny Islands likely once had such a road, before it's other half fell into darkness and become the dark margin. However that is really a different point all together. What I am saying is that Shibuya and Shinjuku don't have to be in the same world or even in the same realm in order for them to be connected in a way that someone can walk form one into the other. Shibuya being deeper then the realm of sleep and so not being suitable for remaking people out of dreams, and Riku going into the realm of sleep and ending up in Shinjuku can both work maybe. I mostly agree that it seems very likely that Traverse town was spilt into two before Sora and Riku got there. Your points on that make a lot of sense even if it makes me question just how Riku is both in Sora's dream and in a second dream Traverse Town. I am not likely to think to deeply on the subject after all there is a lot that we don't understand about the realm of sleep or indeed any of the realms. One of my hopes of the next saga is that we are going to get clearer rules for each of the known realms. The Wayfinder trio can learn a lot more about the realm of darkness, Riku can learn a lot more about the realm of sleep, Sea Salt or Ienzo's lab can learn about the realm of data and maybe the realm of light, and Sora can learn more about the realm of death. I am not saying that we will get all the answers this saga about all the realms but seeing where everyone is it makes a lot of sense that we are going to learn more lore about all these places that we don't really understand yet. As for your ideas about Yozora. Well it isn't any crazier then any other theory out there. It's just not any more believable either. I will add it to my list of theories that Yozora might be or places he could be from. It isn't that I dislike your theory I just don't think we have enough information about him to be deciding anything about what he can do, who he is, or even where he is from. I really want them to do something a bit more with him before I agree or disagree with any theory.

I don't know if this means anything but in the first after credit The Master of Master was looking directly at Shinjuku when he makes a heart with his fingers, you can see across the skyline the building yozora was standing on, I always got the impression both moments where happening at the exact same time because of this. I don't know how it fits in but it's always been something I noticed that no one really brings up.

Yozora being Nomura's way of "reclaiming" Noctis and his original vision for FFvsXIII went from a wink and a nod with the Verum Rex sequence, to something worth seriously taking into account for the story when they did that final secret ending of him waking up in the car just like the old trailer. FFXV Insomnia is heavily modeled after Shinjuku, so maybe so with the KH version being the "true" version of course it's actually just Shinjuku. The Gigas being so integrated in the Verum Rex cutscene feels like more than just an element of Toy Box, especially since he can then summon them in his boss fight.

I do kind of like that. While Xehanort's time travel I relatively understood on the first playthrough and had a better grasp on the second (through other media I like I'm familiar with different forms of time travel/parallel universe theory) Dreams have always had an ethereal quality to them. I mean everyone dreams but some people can't remember. Some people remember but can't do anything while others are lucid dreamers who have some control. Hell, before color tv was mass produced it was said people dreamed in black-and-white. Perhaps its good that, like dreams, DDD can never be fully *understood*.

In my own small theory, the MoM wants a perfect world for Kingdom hearts. They mention it's not a world with light or darkness. Like a fictional world to create anew for whatever the MoM motives are.

Okay this a very good theory, really the weak points it's trying to explain whatever it's the realm of sleep or not, because well we don't know, we don't have enough clues for that, we know that dreams can connect with The Final World because it's on that edge, we know that dreams can connect to other dreams, but we don't know a lot about Yozora, also there is something i would like to add. I don't think "Yozora" is Yozora, let me explain, i think that the video game represents a summary of the real Yozora, why? Because of Limit cut we know that the missing star mention to Sora the name Yozora. And she is a female character who says(This is the context not the exact phrasing) that the person she is waiting for isn't himself anymore, his heart was replaced with anothers... I don't think i need to add anything else. Nomura, while he isn't consistant on 1 to 1, on the secret endings, he is consistant on the bosses abilities and story abilities. And Yozora can command the Gigas... Which are show to be his enemies, the girl is probably the real form of the missing star. There is also another thing, i do think that Nomura isn't talking about the "real" Shibuya in terms of the real world of KH, but TWEWY Shibuya. After all he mentions that he promise to meet Neku, but it isn't TWEWY Neku, but KH Neku. After all the guy making the interview ask if Sora is on the TWEWY world, not the KH version of the TWEWY. Which is why i don't give to much weight to that interview. It could lead to overthinking. I do think that "Yozora", Yozora, Shibuya and Shinjuku will play a part on rescuing Sora.

Great video, but you missed one thing most every one misses. Chrono series has already been hinted heavily at because of Yazoras mentioning of Fate as a concrete entity instead abstractly. Plus ending # 2 of chrono cross is extremely similar to the secret ending.

Young Xehanort knowing about Shibuya would also make sense since the ending of Melody of Memory implies that Keyblade Wielders from Scala ad Caelum knew about Unreality, and since he acts knowledgeable about the consequences for violating taboos of nature.

Oh my goodness, your videos are always THE BEST! Your theory about waking up lying on the floor versus standing is blowing my mind. If you notice at minute 12:51 young Xehanort asks to Riku: "How did you arrive here? BY CHOICE or BY CHANCE?". And the camera shows a little puppet LYING on the ground! I honestly do not remember if that cutscene was actually playing out as shown here or if it is due to your editing, but if the camera shifted to the puppet while Xehanort was saying those lines, that small reference would almost 100% proof that your theory is beyond correct! So maybe the difference in how one person wakes up is if they accessed the Dream World by choice or by chance! Maybe that's the easiest and most beautiful answer!

So I WILL say that after his quote "how did you arrive here", Riku says "Who are you?" then Young Xehanort kicks the (cat plushie, not puppet) and it lands on the ground in front of Riku, and THEN Xehanort continues to say "by choice or chance?". Riku's line and the plushie kick literally only lasts like two seconds, but I still decided to cut it out. I just thought I should clear that up! Sorry if it is misleading in anyway. But still, I will definitely take into account the answer being whether they entered the Realm of Sleep "by choice or by chance", as that seems like an interesting possibility!

What if the events of Sora in Shibuya are different? Fighting Yozora being the first time. The second time inside Kairi's dream in Melody of Memories. After all the Sora in that to which you play as is from Kairi's dream. Maybe she somehow sends Dream Sora to look for the real Sora. She could even be dreaming up Data Sora from Re:Coded!

This is a very well put together theory - at least the parts that you've been able to fill in. While I do agree that the gigas, Magia, and Aegis do throw a wrench in the idea that Yozora is not from the Shibuya/Shinjuku world, I feel like there is an explanation for that that is yet to be revealed because I really do feel like you're onto something. However, I do not think that the Shibuya/Shinjuku world is a dream world. I think that it is a real world that was restored somehow either by Joshua or someone else and Yozora was sent there where he played in the reaper's game. After beating the reaper's game, Joshua asked him for a favor, to save Sora in the Final World. I think Joshua and TWEWY is going to be assimilated into the KH universe and will have a big role in the future of the story.

I spent like 10 minutes typing out a well thought out, detailed explanation of this, but it got lost, so I'm just gonna say this as simply as I can this time... Yozora used that big spinny projector orb to make Shibuya appear in the Final World. You aren't actually fighting in Shibuya in KH3, it's just an illusion Yozora projected. That's why he says "I accidentally wandered into this place..." He's referring to the Final World, which he accidentally wandered into during his dreams. This aligns with what Chirithy said earlier in the game, about Sora sometimes wandering into the Final World by accident in his dreams previously. Please take this possibility into consideration. I understand it's a projection by Yozora, I say that in the video. While I do agree with you, it's apparent that Yozora CAN enter the Final World as well, but it's AFTER he projects Shibuya that he says "I accidentally wondered into this place." To me, that's implying that it's Shibuya he accidentally wondered into, not JUST the final world. Why wouldn't he say "I accidentally wondered into this place" while the Final World was still visible? Why bring up Shibuya at all if that's not what he was talking about? Do you see what I mean?

Now that you bring up Young Xehanort, I think he may have been the cause for the gigas (from Toy Box) appearing in Shibuya. Young Xehanort may have orchestrated the whole thing with Yozora as well, putting a data version of the world in Toy Box, then giving Yozora a reason to move a certain way (move him towards a specific goal (the trials, maybe?) Young Xehanort may know about the TWEWY game, and that could be the trial/s as well... Joshua contacting Yozora may be possible as well because not only would he remember Sora, but Young Xehanort as well. I guess my point would be that Young Xehanort may have been very involved in the existence of Yozora in Toy Box (not seeing any use in him, although I’m not sure because if Sora recognized Yozora, it may have been something Young Xehanort cooked up to make him attack Sora? But I’m not sure about that) Great video though!
