Without realizing it, we take everything that happens personally. We make it about us whether or not it actually is. In this episode of “Letting Go & The Greatest Secret,” Hale Dwoskin explores how this sense of “all about me” is the main cause of suffering and limitation, and how it isn’t as real as it appears to be.
Hale Dwoskin is the author of the New York Times best seller "The Sedona Method" and the coauthor of "Happiness Is Free: And It’s Easier Than You Think" with Lester Levenson. He has been helping people let go and discover their true nature since 1976. He is also one of the featured teachers in Rhonda Byrne’s book and movie phenomenon "The Secret" as well as a featured teacher in "The Greatest Secret." Thank you. My therapist told me "it's not about you" regarding my experience of traumatic bullying, so I searched it in KZbin and it lead me here. Thanks again!

Okay. I'm starting to get it. The sense of "me" is an extreme filter, and a phantom. This is GOOD NEWS! I can feel a tinge of ego-anger, but the feeling of freedom is greater. I'll keep after it til I get it! Thanks again, Hale.

Greetings Hale! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Thinking about the concept of no self seems frightening, yet experiencing it seems blissful and natural. Love and blessings ♥️🙏

I think this is all about de-personalizing everything. That is a very powerful thought! When I listen to this, I feel like I'm melting away. It is fascinating and feels good.

This is a stretch, but I feel the truth in it. What about the quantum idea that there is no thing to observe unless there is an observer? How then can there be something to be observed without having a "me" to observe it? What am I missing here? Been listening to Hale almost everyday for past 3 years. Life-changing! Love you too, Willow!

Hello, My name is Ron. I'm one of the non-existent beings In Hales fascinating universe! I realize I'm over a year late in responding to your awesome question, but it is one of the most relevant questions about this concept and I just noticed it.. The truth is that there absolutely is only one of us, but what is most often misunderstood here is that this one of us has lots and lots of parts, one of which is "you" and another is "me". I understood this when I experienced all of the parts in my body, and realized that they are each experiencing its life as though they were individuals also! But because it cannot think of itself as separate it simultaneously knows every other cell in its body, constantly. It's not like every atom "thinks" of itself as an individual. The human can use God's mind because of its level of complexity. It's just that parts are in fact individual parts of the one infinite beingness we all are. So if each atom was sufficiently complex within itself it could possibly use Gods mind as we do, to imagine the self, the part which we are aware of, as me. Every part within the whole has its own sense of being because it is God's own part. It is a super self-aware being with each part a self-aware part. That's why Lester said very clearly that we will never lose our individual sense of self, it just keeps getting bigger! In one of Hale's talks with Rhonda Byrne she repeated that statement of Lester's because it is so frequently not understood. I'm not sure Hale understands it either, because he is so insistent on the absence of the personal self it seems as though he might equate it with the one Self. Whatever is the truth, the feeling sense of our self is in fact the feeling sense of God's Self. So the truth is that you are not missing anything in the quantum view. Every particle all the way down to the very tiniest is a part of God's aware self. It's impossible for it not to be aware because it is God. So the quantum reality is that every part, including the very tiniest, is constantly aware of every other part, so nobody will ever "catch" any other part coming back into form because it can never not be in form because it can never be out of awareness. Always remembering, of course, that form is always only mind form, not actually a solid "thing". So enjoy your very own self, because it is God's own Self. Your sense of self has always been God's own sense of It's Self. There never was a personal sense of self!

@@ronmink2523 Well said, perfectly timed! Sometimes it's comforting to think that we don't have to know anything about the particulars of the car in order to drive it :). However ... enquiring minds want to know! Thank you so much, Ron! PBEA

Jim mugridge. Yeah, there is a you and a god. They are both the unqualified subjectivity which is all there is! There is no objective character or me-object, no enclosed self or external god, really. Not that it matters, it is a fun exploration. I have been listening to Nalle and Lester for maybe 10 years, and it keeps getting more lovely!
