In this guide series I take a look at each god’s respective abilities and describe how they function and what situations they are best used in. I also go over builds, relic choices, ability leveling, and combos with each God. The guides are typically made for new/returning players but I don't shy away from more technical ideas/mechanics, so who knows, you might learn a thing or two!
For builds the first build I put is the one I personally rely on/recommend, then, any other builds are sourced from high level players, usually referenced against builds from prosmitebuilds.com, which gathers builds from high level players in ranked and pro play.

Herc main here. Great video. I think there could be a whole video dedicated to pulling. A few important things to keep in mind is target selection and where your back line is when going for a pull. Obviously pulling their front liner directly into your back line let’s them engage for free and is about the worst thing you can do. Ideally when pulling you want to pull a killable target into range of your back line, not directly on them. This can often mean: blink, 2, push side ways to towards a wall, not directly back. Pushing directly back doesn’t do any good if it puts an assassin into melee range of your mage looking to follow up.

once again, great vid keep in mind that the cc from your 2 can be blocked by walls, you can't pull a target behind a wall but it'll still be hit by the huge knock up, can be used to keep up with an enemy trying to run away in the jungle. and for a niche play : you can use your 2 then quikly turn around and blink away. if done correctly, you will pull enemies to your location after the blink, making a massive pull accross the lane. very niche and not simple to make, that play can catch your opponent of guard even more than your standard combo. don't forget to mix up your timing, enemies will often get hit by the cc of your 2 and then beads while in the air for the cc of your one. Sometimes, use your 2 and then just walk toward, leaving space bewteen you and the pulled enemy, then wait for their beads to end and dash them. Also, engaging with the one isn't alwasy bad, enemies will get so use to try to avoid your 2 that dashing them can catche them of guard ( idealy into a wall, to avoid pushing them too far ), and if they start to run away, use your 2 to keep them in the fight and allow your team to catch up. And don't forget that your heal is also a protection buff, even with antiheal it got quite a bit of value ( 60 prot at last rank ).

Perhaps you have any tips on how not to look predictable to the hercules 2. Many experienced play may see it coming and walk forward on purpose to counter

oh yeah 100% everyone knows what you're trying to do. There's really no way around that and you need to either use blink to get a pull or use a movement speed build to get in range and just chase people down. As for people walking into you to avoid the pull, you can still use your push to push them away from you and you just walk it out, additionally when you start getting more CDR you can straight up just keep walking at them with your 3 popped since your 2 has a 6 second cooldown with max cdr and max rank

Any necessary items now for herc in the curent patch? I know that bluestone and breastplate of regrowth are good on him but I'm lost on items to run for him

Well you're probably a bit lost because he can kind of build everything haha. He works well with literally everything. One thing that opens up with him is movement speed items like Relic Dagger and/or Winged Blade to get yourself in range to 2 or blink 1. A super reliable build is Bluestone (it can honestly be Bluestone, Tainted Steel, Warding Sigil OR Warrior's Axe they're literally all good) > Golden Blade > Breastplate of Regrowth > Pridwen > Winged Blade > Spirit Robe (can be Magi's Blessing if they have blowout CC abilities like Ares Ult)

@@Shenmoki Would prophetic or thebes work well too? I was thinking something like bluestone ( or any of those starters you mentioned but I'll most likely use bluestone) > prophetic/thebes > regrowth > Pridwen > Frostbane (I can't remember if that's what it's called but it's the frozen hammer one) and maybe something like contagion or oni garb, but idk if it'd be good or not

@@rossisusingunagitopivothis1776 Yeah that's pretty solid too, but idk if i'd go Gauntlet or Prophetic FIRST. As a tankiness spike they're pretty weak, as a solo laner you usually would want them 2nd or 3rd even though they're a stacking item, just so that you can get the best possible tank item out of the way first. And yeah Contagion and Oni Hunter's are totally fine on him too, although Breastplate of Regrowth AND Contagion in the same build you'd only really wanna do if you NEED the antiheal
