S.P. *EMD SD40T-2 **#8317* was eventually *retired in May of 2000* and was later *scrapped in 2013* while S.P. *EMD SD45R **#7543* was eventuay sold to *M.R.S. Logistica* in Brazil, where it was rebuilt with *5' 6" gauge trucks,* reclassified as an *SD40-3,* I believe, and renumbered *5313-1* and is *still in service as of 2020.*

The speed limit at the curve where the derailment occurred was 30 MPH. The train was believed to be going 105 MPH when it crashed (3.5 times the speed limit). That's what happens when you don't have enough working brakes on a train going down Cajon Pass.

The sent 2 engines on the back of the train. Only 3 people dead 3 other were injured. The y were carrying nontoxic fertilizer, but after the derailment they had to check the gas pipes and it exploded due to a gas leak.

Correction: while the real train did have 6 locomotives, 4 of them were on the front end pulling, and the other 2 were being used as helpers on the rear. Also, all 4 head end locomotives were destroyed in the real wreck, while the helpers survived. Also, the head end engineer was the only head end crew member to survive in the real wreck

It's honestly a miracle that the train wreck itself didn't cause a fire from the 4 ruined locomotives

6:20 , I have some criticisms, the number of coal cars on the train does not match the original. In fact, the number of carriages in the incident was 69 cars while in this animation there were 20 cars. So what do you think?

What I think my reasons are, is during the making of this animation, I had to notch it down to 20 instead of 69 because that size of a number of objects in the program would've caused immense lag and could've crashed mine-imator the software I was using for this... resulting only 20 cars which is not really a mistake due to the immense size it would've taken..

was trying to add smoke and sparks coming from underneath the train to much to add during the downhill decent ??????? from what i heard, the air brakes were completely burned up, turning to molten steel, from the intense heat and friction after lawrence pulled the emergency brake cord, and leaving the wheels glowing red hot, even when the NTSB arrived 12 hours after the crash, from the train's eventual top speed of 110 MPH

This reminds me of from the roblox edition the runaway train that the conductor was not in the train because somehow the the lever to speed up was pulled down which caused the train to speed up at the end it derailed in a little town I forgot what it was called and hit some of the gas tank which caused an explosion after the train derailed so this video is called ROBLOX the runaway train

you are absolutely corrected, it was a pain doing this... it took hours of animating the physics of the crash even though gravity is hard to animate in Mine-Imator sometimes because keyframes have different lengths of speed causing not so smooth gravity.
