Nice shooting Mark, the squirrels in Staffordshire are a bit dim as well, I've had to prop the lids up on my squirrel feeders. 😁😁

I'm in Staffordshire culling squirrels and all the squirrels I shoot eat the food out of a tray at the bottom of the feeders I build...can't for life of me see why you need to prop the lid open on a feeder 🤔

Good video mark, the impact is a great platform for all types of shooting , low power with pellets for close range stuff, or a high power slug tune for longer range stuff. I am seeing a lot of ill-informed comments about FAC airguns about, but the bottom line is that it is all horses for course and personal choice.

Hi Mark, good video as usual. I also have the M3 and I am left handed and the mag does get in the way a bit , more so with some scope setups than others. Recently I’ve noticed that Carm Magazines do a slimmer mag (less capacity) that is more lefty friendly. I think I might order one. Just thought I’d mention it here as you bumped into the same problem.

Great episode Mark, looking forward to the next one. It would be good to have a deeper dive on the finer points of ballistics and zeroing a rifle. I appreciate this is less appealing to the pros but I’m still a novice on the steep learning curve.

Good information Mark, well done, but I would appreciate to know what ft lb your FX is producing to fire those 33 grn 'pellets' ? Me, I use my FX FAC .25 Maverick tuned to 60 ftlb using Zan 33grn slugs that gives me a velocity of around 980/1000 ft, I find them more accurate over longer distances...

@@rapalaron6348 ive had both a 22lr and 17hmr. I got rid of the both because the 22lr is very prone to ricochet and the 17hmr is very loud. Dont get me wrong they are both great rifles but for me The fac air has the best of both worlds as in same loads as the 22lr but also the range of a 17hmr. I have had many many small vermin kills over 200 yards with the fac air and the prohunter slugs. as for running out of air, I have my own compressor so air is no issue. another plus with fac air is you can dial back the power and use pellets in small holdings where you dont need so much stopping power, this is something you cant do with 22lr or 17hmr. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal choice and the applications you use the rifle for. Air suits my needs and permissions better.

Or just buy a .22lr or 17hmr. Cheaper, better, easier, more reliable, and you skip all the tralala that comes with a PCP. I use HW springers and rimfire's. For me there is no need to fill a gap between. Cheers!

@@226eagleeye Hi, Yes i do, in fact nothing, but i do know what i,m not missing😁 Offset scope mount, air compressor, air hoses, divers bottle, adjustments, leaking O-rings and gaskets, holding an air tube or picatinny rail in my hand while free hand shooting and running out of air. That,s why i prefer a quality springer or a rimfire and a nice looking wooden stock with checkering for a good hold, but i admit that the impact is absolutely a dream to shoot with. I sold my impact because i like simplicity. It was not my cup of tea. Cheers!

@226eagleeye

@@rapalaron6348 Many valid points, the only problem is that rimfires in general can not be shot in back yards legally. (In most localities anyway.) My springer abilities don’t go beyond 35 yards. I do enjoy extremely accurate shooting and the only way I can do it without having to go to a range, is a PCP rifle. Keeps me busy anyway. I like tinkering but I do see your point too.

Ok, always enjoy Marks videos. However, again like a stuck record....Why mess about with an over complicated setup? A couple of grands worth of gear to bag a few rabbits. You need air. Buy a good rimfire, add a bog standard scope, stick a lamp on it. Spot with a basic thermal or IR spotter, light it up and bang. My night time setup is a CZ457 Synthetic ( £455 ) A basic Hawke scope ( £85 ) A Cree light off of Amazon ( £15 ) A Gen 1 Yukon IR spotter ( £100 off evilbay ) I treated myself to the basic Hick thermal spotter last month ( £350) Glad I did, spots rabbits out to 60+ yards. Light it up and bang. My math says less than a grand. Bought over two years when you can afford it, cheap, reliable and simple tough kit. Ok, I accept its personal choice, but I am amazed at the money some people will spend to pop off a few rats, squirrels or rabbits....

Depends what ur doing mate, 60 yard bunny bashing 22 lr and a lamp, what if u want yo shoot a bit further at crows or even targets pcp can be far more reliable accurate, each to there own, not getting on ur case I've just berm through this from 22 to 17 hmr then bavk to my pcp just suits my shooting better

@@visiter127 Thanks for the honesty. I use 17 and sub 12 as well. Horses for courses. LR is good out to over a hundred for me during daytime, 17 gives me further. I just think after decades of pesting that pellet guns are too fussy, affected by wind and lack killing power. Still, what my dad said rings true, a fool and his money etc.

All that expence just to murder a few innocent rabbits an squirrels. Go and do some charity work helping the aged, its much more rewarding than butchering innocent wildlife.
@260rips
@260rips 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not murder (that’s illegal pest control isn’t) there is also a legal obligation to control rabbits on farmland and in this case they are on a horse paddock and are shot to help stop the continual damage they do by digging (don’t want a horse to break a leg in a rabbit hole). Squirrels are controlled due to the damage they do to woodland as well as their predatory nature on songbird nests so all in all not so ‘innocent’. As it happens I do a lot for charity - some of the revenue is actually generated by this sort of video although as a foster carer too I often find I struggle to dedicate the time I would like too for worthy causes. Perhaps in future if this sort of video offends you, you should avoid videos with titles such as ‘squirrel and rabbit control with the FX impact’? That way you wouldn’t find it your moral obligation to throw your toys out your pram on subjects you clearly have little understanding of and judge people who you’ve never met…?
