Hi Wayne, Half tidy fisherman would have taken out his penknife and made a beautiful carving, from that piece of driftwood while waiting for his next DOGGY!!!! Regarding strange catches, caught a Cormorant at Cardiff Foreshore, it came out around the headland and his wing wrapped around my line, reeled him in, he was not a happy bird, pecked me several times before I could release him 👍

cracking log young man...caught right in the kisser? when we were kids on holiday in cornwall my brother and i were swimming in the sea in newquay and saw a head bobbing about. my dad ran to the phonebox (google what this is if your under 30 lol)) called the police. they closed the beach off only to discover it was a head complete with wig from a mannequin.....oh how we laughed

Me and the old man was walking down to beach and walked past something in rocks had a quick glance but was eager to get fishing, when halfway through session some guy walks up and asks us if we had any idea what this thing was that he found in rocks, my dad took one look & thought damn it was a whales vertibre, he was gutted he never picked it up, crazy to see it up close tho, looked perfect condition
