Ward Meachum is the saviour for this tv series. Without him, audience is easily losing interest watching Iron Fist. The main character, Danny Rand, is so weak and naive. Meanwhile, Ward Meachum's character development + Great acting makes him totally at different class. Honestly, I am starting to think Ward Meachum is the main character of the series instead of Danny Rand.

I am currently on the 9th episode and I've been really happy with the show so far, its not my favourite Marvel Netflix series but its good, obviously the show isn't perfect and i didn't like certain sections of episodes but i would love to see how Danny Rand's story progresses beyond the first season. 7/10 from me.

I hope he grows more as a character in season 2 (heck, even in Defenders) because he never learned to let go of his anger, which the entire season was leading up to.

Agreed. The main criticisms I don't see at all, but there were moments in the show that felt too detached from the main character's own story and took forever to become relevant. But even though Danny had trouble with the Iron Fist force towards the second half of the season, which was equivalent to the first half of Thor when Thor didn't have his powers, I enjoyed him fighting with himself. The theme of the show was "Are you Iron Fist, or Danny Rand?" Danny fought long and hard to try to combine both, so he could still bring honor to K'un Lun while also being the person his parents would be proud of. THAT is what I loved about the show. THAT was the heart of it all!

Tom blew my mind with his performance , amazing actor but also his character is by far the most interesting one. Generally all the actors do a very good job , the directing also what we are used to by Netflix. Story is pretty interesting. BUT the fighting is plain terrible. This is supposed to be a Kung fu themed series and chereography is non existence. I have watched 7 episodes and just one had a good fight and was from an extra. None of the main leads seem skilled enough in martial arts, the weakest link , as surprising this may sound being Iron Fist. I am a Marvel fan but I have not read Iron Fist however I prefer how it's depicted in animation where he is far more cool head and wise. In this series he is naive too much crying, too much complaining about losing his parents. As a series in total is definetly worth watching though personally if Tom's character dies I will probably stop watching because he is the No1 reason I like the show.

Are you kidding me? The stunts in the show were AMAZING. The fighting moves were extremely varied and unique in handshape, location, and movement, just as the real moves are. The fact that they included so many different fighting moves in a single style of fighting was so fantastic. They hardly touched on that in Daredevil because of the difference in martial arts learning for Danny and Matt. And Finn did a beautiful job with the martial arts, even though I can't say that the supporting characters were as good as he was. And as for his "crying and complaining"....he cried like ONE time. I'm sorry, but if a broken person doesn't cry, then I can't trust them very well. Danny, unlike Tony Stark and a little like Bruce Wayne, lost everything when his parents died. The only thing he still had was his name, which, because his name was tied to his father's enterprise, belonged to his father's inheritance. But while Bruce was raised in the shadow of his loving butler and the memories of his beloved parents, Danny was trapped in a different realm, having to endure rigorous training in a society that denounced a life of luxury (shoes, technology, wine, etc). And upon arriving back home at the 15-year mark in which he could be Danny again, he took it, seeking answers to so many questions he had as a kid. If that sounds too emotional for you, then stop watching literally any Marvel show, because those shows have a lot of sad backstories.

I am doing martial arts. I have trained in Kung fu , to specific Fu Jow Pai and now I am training in Ninjutsu. I am by no means an experienced martial artists but yeah watching Iron Fist do Kung Fu, makes my eyes bleed. Not that you need to be trained in Kung Fu to realise how bad this is, any Kung Fu film old or new should make this apparent. Daredevil is no martial artists and he is definitely not doing any Kung Fu. I can excuse him if his fighting style looks kinda boring because they try to achieve a level of realism and frankly his fights are far better than Iron Fist's fights anyway.

+barbaro267 Daredevil's fighting choreography was done better than Iron Fist did. The point is not really the martial arts, but how terrible they filmed the fighting scenes. They chopped it into pieces and give it different angles that you can't even see how the fight happen properly. The only fight scene that was done good, and looks good, is the video footage of an old Iron Fist fighting in the 1940s.

It kinda kills me how everyone acts as if Tom hasn’t been around as long as he has or acts as if he isn’t a well known actor! Really gets under my skin and sure he is getting the credit he deserves for this role but it seems like hardly anyone was there when he got his start! I was eight years old when he first burst out on the scene and am 25 now. Been watching and enjoying him for over half my life now. Where have y’all been lol? Not only is he my all time favorite actor but him and Nikki Sixx are the most down to earth and nicest ‘celebrities ‘ if you will.. that you will ever meet for sure! He is very very sweet! A heart throb, if you will and a real lover ! LOL Going back and looking on through his career is just astonishing to see and how young he was when he started! I’m just so surprised he hasn’t really blown up but at the same time I’m kinda glad! He just has a humbled and realness about him that I just hope to never see go away. 🙌🏻🥺 feels me with joy everytime I get to see him act because of the lot of the time he has the most passion in the things he’s casted in and just everything but him is wrong about the products they become! I really hope his next venture is his best one yet ... because a lot of the roles he’s had as far as movies keeps making him look bad when he is in my opinion the best actor out there and giving you a false outlook on h him as an actor! hopefully Gl will make a comeback at its tenth year of cancelation and he will get to make a comeback on the most passionate roll he ever played! I loved the show. For me it's Daredevil, Iron Fist, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage ranking for all single character shows. Ward's evolution throughout the season was astounding. And though they aren't as great as Daredevil's, the fight scenes were awesome, particularly for the attention to detail in regard of styles, which doesn't happen too much in American productions. It would've been very easy to just have everyone do typical stunt-fighting, but to the contrary, the way Danny fights is very Kung Fu, particularly Shaolin styles with some Tai Chi thrown in there, whereas Colleen fights in a very Japanese martial arts way, using techniques from Aiki-Jujutso, Kendo, Judo, Karate, they really put work in letting you know that martial artists aren't all the same, even Davos fights differently from Danny though they trained in the same place.

There is no right vs wrong when it comes to films (TV, etc) because so much work goes into making them. Writing. Directing. Acting. Cinematography.... the pilot was pretty terrible, it just felt pretty unpolished. this carried on for the good half of the season, where there was story, the actors were good, but just missing that one more step that made it a good tv show (as dd, jj are; i have yet to watch luke cage). pacing was slow. dont get me wrong, the series as a whole (have yet to finish but almost done) is pretty good but relative to the other defender series it just feels unpolished. 7/10 from me. enjoyable for sure.

I don't understand the negativity towards this show, I mean it's not a perfect show, but name one show that is perfect, even the likes of Breaking Bad and the Wire weren't perfect. But that aside, it's a pretty decent show, admittedly the fight scenes started off poorly, but as the show progressed they got better and better, and it was slow for the first few episodes, but to me, even the slow episodes were still good, but from episode 6 onward the show comes into its own.

Big negatives of this sseries(for the people saying it's great): - The action isn't up to par when you look at daredevil for instance. It isnt that well-shot and finn didnt have enough training in real life to become iron fist and embody him. Colleen wing was a great character and i feel she could kickhis ass anytime, yet the show claims she can't. - I feel we got NOTHING from his past, except that damn plane scene. We got it... it had him traumatized, but after showing it three times spread around the series would be enough.. instead we get constant snippets of 3 minutes of the 15 years he was gone. No time in k un l'un which shouldve been the most interesting part of his time away. - He is the iron fist, but either the budget was on par or the writers were too lazy to come up with better villains, because his fist glowed 8 times in the series for 10 seconds... His chi-problems and trauma of the plane crash shouldnt have been spread out over the whole 13 episodes.. it was a lazy way to humanize iron fist so that normal humans would pose a threat to him. He didnt act well as well. When his character was supposed to be gettin angry it felt reallly fake to me. - *spoiler* why did his sister all of a sudden wants kill him at the end? that didnt make sense and really grinds my gears -_- especially since she saw what her father was, what her brother was and how kind-hearted danny was. and she wasn't a b*tch either, so that sudden character change is stupid. summary bad pointst: average action, bad main actor, bad character development for some, not enough k'un l'un or any of that... (we didnt even get to see the dragon -_-) Verdict of the series: the story is pretty good, some action scenes are legitmately good, madame gao, claire temple and colleen wing(a.k.a. all the girl actors almost) were great... all for seperate reasons, but it lacks on too many fronts to be considered "good".

It's an origin show so to say, he's not going to be the iron fist right off the bat. Much like it took forever before Arrow was actually called Arrow and had the right suite. I know a lot of people are hating on the first season, and everyone has their reasons, but just try to give it a chance to grow. He's childish yes, and he won't freaking SHAVE ^_^ but hey, they had to do their own spin on it too. Let him grow into who he is supposed to be.

The TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender included a ton of Asian/Buddhist spirituality, while having only fair-skinned people and Inuit-styled people. The more you watch the series the better it gets. I'm not sure why but it is! I watched it when it came out and had mixed thoughts. I viewed the first season to refresh to get ready for season 2 and its just great. There are a few douchey lines in the script and there are some moments where they must have rushed and it seems like there's some lazy writing, but overall it holds up. Joy and Wade are the perfect counterpoint to Danny snd his story. Tom gets more amazing as the story progresses. Jessica Stroup is gorgeous and can carry the role of exec all the while having mixed feeling and morals (...and legs for days). Finn is sometimes a bit too perfect in his performance, but loosens up as romance begins. On GOT he was simply outstanding. I have to agree that Jessica Henwick is probably the best in the group for the show. She's spot-on and simply a dream all at the same time.

I think they should have switched the actors Finn should've played ward and tom should've played Daniel. Love the duo and Harold, best part of the series.
