Better than the Bike Park? // Riding Lower Basin DH - Sandpoint, Idaho

After a day of riding the bike park at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, I wanted to check out a trail along the road down from the mountain called Lower Basin. I've heard some great things about it, and it definitely does not disappoint.

I've been living in Sandpoint through two winters now, and I LOVE the trails around here. I did some trail work last year with POP to contribute. Thank you for the footage of Lower Basin DH trail; I now have a proper Enduro Bike inbound for this Spring, and this clip has me all jacked up to ride this trail now

I am from Athol and I come home every summer and ride silver mountain. This summer one of my buddies wanted to ride schweitzer and I tagged along because I haven't been there for mtb before and I was pretty let down with the trails at schweitzer. I decided to ride this trail down after we got done riding and this trail was awesome I couldn't believe it! I would rather shuttle this trail a couple times then pay for a lift ticket any day of the week. Love the videos keep it up!

some changes coming for those trails in the next few years...come back and check them out. We have a huge volunteer base out here to work on our amazing trail systems. Added a few miles or more this year and many more miles planned.

Ha. I had to laugh a little watching this. I've been riding these trails for over a decade. About 5 years ago on the same jump where you lost your pedal, I went otb, separated my shoulder and spent the summer in a sling. I think that hip is haunted! I always roll that one now.

U should ride in Wyoming sometime it’s really fun and there’s a lot of tech. I recommend the north fork trail and Curt Gowdy Park it’s a ton of fun

i wish more trails would build little kickers and features off to the edge like this one. Would make for more enjoyment for those that want it and you still have the trail available for others who prefer to skip it.

@@TheShredist exactly! I’m out in Tennessee and it’s been so hard to get more jumps and features on trails. Slowly over the last year or two we’ve gotten more, but usually need to travel to Knoxville or something for the big stuff. Have a gravity/DH park coming to Chattanooga this fall though!! Self shuttle or pedal the fire road to the top. Open to public. Trail building is coming along nice
