Done test ride at kawasaki SC sunway on 26/8/17. z900 feels pretty light compared to previous z800. A lot of torque from low to mid range RPMs but getting softer at higher RPMs. z800 n z1000 are quite wild to handle but not z900. Totally refined bike of every aspects including slipper clutch, ECU mapping, center gravity, suspension setting and turning radius. Yeah man, I can easily make a quick U-turn with z900 without hesitating coz it just turn. Fun bike, but not too beasty, and too quiet though

Just bought a z900 couple of days ago..been riding a cruiser for a few years, wanted to switch on to a naked bike. After a careful research and test driving a lot of other bikes i chose z900. Good decision and i really loving it,, Its very powerful and torquey. The factory made exhaust is not great, i have an ackrovic exhaust fitted which is pretty loud, good to get the notice of bad drivers so they dont miss you. Overall really good bike.

I want to know how good is bike for touring and covering long distances.Is it comfortable more than cbr650f?
@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
Naked bikes are not that suitable for highway high speed long cruising without a bigger windshield, and a CBR650F has fairings, so the CBR should give a more comfortable ride against the wind. I had a Z900 buddy riding long distance but he didn't feel comfortable with the wind, then again it comes down to rider endurance, some can endure the wind, some cannot. But if you want to be safe get one with fairings.

hello sir. I am having trouble deciding between two bikes. the triumph street triple 765 and the Kawasaki z900. I'm 6'1 , 215 lbs . I can't comment on that no experience with it. Looking nice is secondary if the FS is not proper and cause engine issues without proper tune.

@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
I have seen the rear seat for pillion, and yes it is certainly quite small. The people that I know which own the bike are single rider and I have not come across anyone carrying pillion. If I do I'll ask and share.. Naked bikes generally have small pillion seat cause of the sporty tail.. Maybe you want to consider the Z900RS, the seat is wide but it's retro style.

I have not had much experience with the Triumph, it's a great bike but in terms of parts and maintenance I am not sure about it, you will have to do some research about it. @thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
All three bikes are in the same category, and I believe the MT-09 should be the one having the highest torque/acceleration, being new, you just need to be careful with either of the bikes you mentioned. Z800 will be the heaviest one so you'll have to take note riding doing slow manoeuvres.

Yes it has ABS, I forgot to mention it, my bad. The Z900 is smaller and lighter than the Z800, about 20kg lighter, that's a lot. The Z900 is a complete re-design from the bottom up so the guys at Kawasaki have the chance to come up with the weight cutting and size reducing innovation. Maybe they want to appeal more to the smaller size riders.

Quick question. MT07 or Z800 (Cant afford Z900) My heart wanted the z8 because to me its the most beautiful (affordable) naked bike ever existed but I heard too many bad review from it ie, wind resistance (told that it is worst than any other naked bike), FC, and heavy af.
@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
To be fair, all naked bikes will have problems with wind deflection at high speeds unless you install a big (ugly) windscreen. I don't see how any other naked bike can deflect wind better when they are all similar in design, without any big screen or fairings. Fuel consumption largely depends on the way you ride it, and also if you have modified it. If you always accelerate hard, or rev-bomb here and there, plus if your exhaust system is modified and not undergone any tune, then all these will impact the FC, as a standard setup I don't think the Z800 has bad FC. Weight of the Z8 is unquestionable, yes it is heavy for it's class, but if you use it often enough you can adapt to handling it with the weight it has. You don't need to be like The Hulk to handle it. If you go with the MT-07, you have to ask yourself, do you really like it? What about it do you like more than the Z800? Yes it is light, but does it sound as good? Which one looks better in your eyes? In the end it's your money, so get the thing that you really want else you may regret it later. I'm assuming you are aiming for used Z800 or used MT-07 to be comparing them together.. If you can get a proper condition one I think it can be a good deal. Happy shopping!
@trollunderthebridge36446 жыл бұрын
TheSighBored im currently on a Naza Blade 650 Naked version, I agree wind a big problem on a naked bike but and there is one friend who recently upgraded from a Blade 650 to a z8 and according to him it is worst on the z8 because the headlamp is positioned slightly lower than the tank in which created a massive wind draft on the rider. You are correct I am aiming for the secondhand bike and yes I weight more on z8 rather than mt07 because of the look. Plus i am a massive guy myself and mt07 are rather slim on the tail.
@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
I can't recall exact what is the riding position on the 650 Blade naked version, but I think Z800 position is a bit more aggressive as you need to lean forward a bit, anyway to solve the problem will be a wind screen. But you have to know how often are you going to ride at high speed cruising, if you ride long distance on highway a lot then maybe it is a factor, but in city I don't think it is a problem.
@trollunderthebridge36446 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a tad bit more aggressive then the blade 650. Thank you for your insight bro. I see most of your videos is around USJ, I work in this are too, would love to hangout sometimes or cursing at lane changers together as I got a pretty solid collection of creative curse.

Good review, bro. z900 not really pillion friendly though, smallish passenger sit & no grab handles. Anywy, looking forward to more bike reviews....yeah..!!!
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
Pillions are meant to hug the rider on these bikes, I think. Small seat to make the bike look more sexy too. Hehe. Thanks for viewing!

I have quite similar height as you and tried the seat of this bike today. Did not drive it, just get on and felt the handlebars and weight. I must say I got surprised how light the bike feels, very easy to push from one side to the other, and it is a 900 cc!! In fact it feels lighter than my FZ6, which weights more than 20 kg less. The downside for me was the dashboard and controls, all too ordinary. Compare that with the new Triumph Street Triple 765 or even the TFT dashboard of some small bikes... definitely Kawasaki needs to rethink that quality feeling. i would consider buying it but first would like to see the new Suzuki GSXs 750, which here costs 2500 USD less. Unfortunately Triumph does not sell the intermediate version (R) of Street Triple in my country..
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
They kept the weight down low, so the top doesn't feel that heavy. Yes the meter display was quite ordinary.

Those gloves are Scoyco MC-15 or MC-17 if not mistaken. Just simple textile with no leather.. You would probably want something with leather lined palm.

bro, I am planning to get my first bike in this year, I ride kapcai for 7 years and I think it's time to accomplish my childhood dream since my financial situation is more comfortable now. .need your opinion. Myself are 164cm in height and I prefer a naked bike, the budget for the bike is around RM60k. I have targeted few model such as Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki z900,z800 and Yamaha mt07. I concern about the after market accessories and maintenance cost, because I heard that Ducati is very expensive in maintenance and spare parts are not easy to get.
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
Hi, don't forget to get your full B class license if you haven't done that already. As for the bike, Ducati aftermarket accessories and parts are usually a bit high costing, maintenance wise should be not that much difference, only headache when it's time for Desmo valve service/check time. The Japanese bikes are all pretty much equal, the MT-07 being a parallel twin will have a lower maintenance cost, but probably the sound of inline four will be nicer than a twin, depends on yourself. The Z900 is much lower seat height than the Z800, and also much lighter. Z900 is still new, so accessories are not much yet.
@IamKin89897 жыл бұрын
TheSighBored yes bro, I am going to upgrade my B2 license to full B on next week. I think I will buy yamaha mt07, but the seat height abit frightening me. in your opinion, lowering the suspension is it a good idea? because I read some forums say safe, buy some say dangerous.
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
It's better not to mess with the suspension as it will affect how the bike handles, try riding without lowering it, but if you must, try not to lower it too much.

I love 4 cylinder motorbikes but the downside modern bikes is the digital speedometer... My preference are analog speedometer and tachometer, ok for digital fuel gauge but not speedometer...
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
Under the bright sunlight the digital reading can be a little hard to see, a mix of analog and digital would still be the nicest.

I doubt the top-speed difference will be much, but the acceleration of the Z900 is probably stronger than the Z800 because it's much lighter. Will share a top speed attempt but blocked by traffic.

Original accessories are gonna be expensive, for sure you can get the accessories separately but you should count the cost first, you might end up spending more in total than just getting the SE version with all the accessories thrown in.

795mm is rather decent. I am 168cm with 31 inch in steam. Oh yeah i am riding a ZX10R, i can't flat foot. You only need one leg to balance :) Its about skill and handling.
@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
Yup, but for a lot of the new riders if the bike is heavy or tall they immediately lose confidence.. I guess manufacturers want to address that to get a larger market.

Keep checking this bike out everytime i go in to my local dealer, so the bike has been built from the ground up, pity they just threw the horn under behind/under the forks, i want to know why do they always make this bikes with a single seat, and then with a cowl for a passenger, make a proper duel seat theres plenty of room from the rear wheel to under the seat, and fit a better rear fender! As for buying the bike i might till next year when all the faults would have been sorted out!
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
For the seat cowl, it's for times when you want to feel cool and sporty so you put that on instead of the pillion seat, or just an excuse so that you won't need to fetch your mate as pillion. Hehe. They keep the tail short for that mean look, so pillion comfort is secondary. Most likely 8 out of 10 owners will do a tail tidy mod so they don't need to work that hard for a rear fender which will be removed anyway. These are just my cheeky opinions. :)
@D0t0ne7 жыл бұрын
Few things you missed includes Rider Aids, ABS, gear box and gear ratio, Horse power and dry/ wet weights of the bike. I must admit I am not a fan of Kawasakis, but this bike does looks damn nice till you see that rear swing arm, it looks so dated. Having said that I would still choose MT-09 as not only I am getting more rider aids but overall a better bike, although MT-09 is about 9HP less compared to z900, still something I will gladly overlook.
@ericpang14137 жыл бұрын
but MT09 in Malaysia are CKD models tho, no ABS no rider modes no traction control :/ but yeah, I agree, if it is a CBU MT09 it would be awesome!
@D0t0ne7 жыл бұрын
True that, even without them I would still buy MT09 over Z900.
@kenjithemilkman7 жыл бұрын
I am a beginner biker, do you think it would be wise to get a z900 or mt-09?
@D0t0ne7 жыл бұрын
MT-09, as not only its a very well built bike but overall a more fun and well balanced bike. But you must respect the bike and must not push the bike if you do not have the required skills. Ride Safe.
