Intelligent, effective and efficient review. No bells, no whistles, no unnecessary music. All the straight opinions and facts about the bike. You also gave neat corrections and updates as annotations - that shows commitment to improvement and an adherence to quality and truthfulness. In the future, you might also want to give insights on fuel consumption and turn signals indicators behavior and how the exhaust sounds. Thank you very much.

It has the look, nice performance, easy to ride, comfortable position, good fuel economy, and low maintenance cost compare to any sportbike around 600 cc. Damn im a bit proud watching this fella presenting the bike. Mostly becoz the dude's Malaysian! Very good command of English and extremely detailed on his thoughts. Well displayed bike and effective review. I wish could've listen/watch this clip sooner as was in a very big dilemma to choose either CBR600rr or this hot bike. In the end I chose the RR because it really suits my character and I love how smooth it is. Of course the 650f is also brilliant in the 600cc arena. Fair play to you and really, I should've watch this clip before I purchase the RR. lol take care!

Thanks for the compliments, the CBR600RR is a different category compared to this CBR650F, much more performance. Enjoy your RR, ride safe & safe ride!

+TheSighBored so if im a beginner rider i just started riding bikes (which is not mine) should i buy the rr or this bike? I kinda want more power but i want simplicity as well....thanks!!!
@thesighbored8 жыл бұрын
RR is a sportbike, it has the sport performance, if you feel you can handle that power and performance, then feel free to go ahead, you will need to accelerate your riding skills and don't ride harder than what you can handle, bikes like these, things can go wrong fast if you are not careful and discipline. Ergos on the sport bike is much aggressive than the CBR650F so if you can cope with that, then it should be fine. :)

Huh, I never noticed the gears slipping from 4th to 3rd or anything like that, but I do have one problem with my 2016 650, where in I go to neutral for a stop light or something like that, then I shift down into first and the neutral indicator light goes away but it stays in neutral and I have to shift down again, has anyone else had this problem? Great review!!

I didn't notice any issue from neutral to 1st, maybe you need to engage the gear a little hard/solid step for it to fully engage.

Good review. This seems like a nice basic bike. Would possibly be a better bike if it had fully adjustable suspension.
@thesighbored9 жыл бұрын
For the price-point and bike category the suspension included is standard with other manufacturers, if I'm not mistaken. There's always aftermarket parts to swap in for those that wish to enhance the bike. :)

Jono BNZ Just to add, I rode the bike on the track with default pre-load setting on suspension. Bike handled like a champ, whether on the straights at 110mph or or 65mph around the corners. Nice job on the review, you must have found a really good one, because most reviewers say it's buzzy in the bars & mirrors, after low revs when it transition into med revs up, most I have seen anyways. But I have never rode the bike, so I like your version best. Do like the naked version of this bike even better, it has better ergos too.
@thesighbored9 жыл бұрын
Bikes will always have some sort of buzzy-ness from the vibes of the engine and road/suspension, plus it's just plastic pieces affixed to the bike, but those are acceptable, unless it was really bad/loose then that would be a problem and I would have pointed it out. During the engine rev video (another video) you could hear the mirrors buzzing slightly in the background from the meter PoV.

True most do have some type of vibes going on at some point.

To be fair this 650F and the 6R aren't actually in the same bike class, the 650F will offer more comfort riding position, the 6R will have more performance but aggressive riding position may give you fatigue.. Really up to your choice which you prefer..

I went for a test ride on the CB650F yesterday. I wasn't impressed with the revvy vibey engine. I was always trying to change up the gears when I was already in top gear. It could do with 8 gears not 6. I'm sure some people will like it, but I personally think there are better and cheaper machines around such as Yamaha's MT 07.

+wozza59 hi wozza59, I have the cbr 650f, nice smooth bike, but same problem, i try to shift up when in 6th. planning to change sprokets, bigger in front, smaller rear, hope it works. any suggestions ?
@wozza599 жыл бұрын
+Shloka Kumar Hi well you could alter the gearing by way of changing the sprockets. However, you will lose a little in acceleration if you up the gearing. I'm not saying the CB is a bad machine, but the revvy nature isn't my preference. I think twins are more my thing.
@cheetah6948 жыл бұрын
I guess its red line at 11000 rpm says something. It means that it's cruising at 4-7 thousand rpms, and that's totally fine for that kind of engine. Choose a bike with 8000 rpm and be happy.

@thesighbored8 жыл бұрын
Cool, yeah he become his own boss now, good for him. :) I haven't fully tried the XJ6, but I think they are both roughly about similar in height, for power delivery, I can't comment on the XJ6 but again my assumption would be they are roughly similar as well. It would be a good idea to try sitting on both and see which you are more comfortable with. Thanks for viewing!

Inline four will be slightly costlier to maintain in the long run since the there's 4 pistons, injectors, extra valves, etc to maintain.. Fuel economy wise I think they are pretty close.. Sound wise the Honda in line four will sound better..

my only gripe with this bike is that it doesnt have gear indicator, even for the newer models ! i know its not a huge downside, but COME ON HONDA, even a moped gets a gear indicator nowadays. And, even the latest model did not come with USD forks yet. hmphhh. and also, the price. i think its expensive among other competitors, but its an inline 4, so i guess you get a bunch of horsies for what you paid for.
@thesighbored6 жыл бұрын
Being an inline four in this category facing competitors like the Ninja 650 or MT-07 (I know it has no fairing) does give it an advantage (like a sweet I-4 sound), and all of these bikes in this category run mainly the normal style forks (except for Naza Blade 650R) in efforts to reduce costs. Particularly in Malaysia I think Honda bikes are priced slightly higher, if I'm not mistaken.
@iodineclip6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. i do think people like this bike alot, but the price just kills it for the most part. Around that price range, you could score a new MT09, yeah its kinda hard to justify buying a smaller and less powerful bike for roughly the same price.

@thesighbored9 жыл бұрын
I didn't get to take it for a long trip, but from what I observed while riding, I don't see the seat being uncomfortable. Of course it's not big and thick padded like a cruiser or tourer, but it is not to thin or hard either.
@alfonsolalumba97469 жыл бұрын
Thanks! So what about the windcraft on a freeway or highway ?
@thesighbored9 жыл бұрын
You will get some decent wind protection when riding on the freeway/highway, but you might want to consider an after-market wind shield should you find the original one a bit small/short, to provide addition wind deflection off the rider body/neck/head area.

In American measurements, I am 5 feet 6 inches, which is pretty average for a woman my age. I'm worried about being tall enough as well as being a new rider and first time motorcycle buyer, would it be a wise decision to go with the CBR650 other than any other bike? Also considering on getting Kawasaki Ninja 300
@morelikecocarina52789 жыл бұрын
More Like Cocarina Also, your English is very good :3
@thesighbored9 жыл бұрын
Hello, you should not have any problems with the bike height, probably will have to be on your tip-toe a bit, lowering the bike would be an option if you are really uncomfortable with the height of it, best to test sitting on one. As a beginner I don't see this bike being too much to handle, so it would be quite reasonable to start on. The Ninja 300 would be easier (and smaller sized) to begin on as well, if you are going to do a lot of freeway and long distance, the 650 would probably be more suited. Some people worry that the 650 might be too powerful, it does have good power, as long as you can manage it, should not be a big issue. The 300 will be more forgiving because it is not as powerful, apart from being smaller/lighter. If you can try both, I would strongly recommend to try them both and see which is more to your liking. Other bikes within the categories will probably be KTM RC390 / Kawasaki ER-6F / Yamaha XJ-6F (Diversion) / Suzuki Gladius 650, etc. Hope this helps. Thanks for viewing!

I didn't have any pillion fully test, but the seat is quite large and soft for the pillion, it's not as tilted (tonggek) as the Z800, it should be comfortable for long rides. Bring your pillion to the bike shop and test sitting on the bike, that's the best way.

Its a good looking bike! but that cheap looking suspension without any adjustment turns me reallyyyy off!!!!
@thesighbored7 жыл бұрын
I agree that the suspension should have been better but they have to keep costs down and bikes in this category are generally having the same kind of shocks.

I did make the correction in the subtitle. I keep the helmet on because the microphone is inside, thanks for the suggestion!
