I went through the build of this over half a year. I also had to buy a solder, solder mat, and some other tools I didnt have on hand. The VoCore screen is unbelievably fragile and I learned that the hard way. In total between having to buy three VoCore screens, getting parts printed, buying replacement parts, and sourcing the PCB, front and back plates, grips, and knobs from Pokornyi I am probably $1200+ into it which admittedly doesn't feel great. That doesn’t mean I don't love my wheel. I absolutely do, its awesome and really kicked up my motivation to drive more often. I've had headaches with the wheel. The USB cord I bought from Pokornyi was a bigger headache than I anticipated. The coiled USB cord put a ton of stress on my solder joints which led to them failing after about a month of use. The VoCore screens also are nearly impossible to take off once they are taped down as the housing around them bends super easy. Once I got past those growing pains the wheel while in use has been awesome. I learned some new skills and I think if I had to build the wheel again I'd be able to do it fairly easy as I have taken apart mine more times than I would care to admit. Another positive is that because you build it if a part breaks you have the ability to replace those parts and keep the wheel going for longer. The wheel caused me a bunch of stress from the first attempt I made at building it that went horribly. There were 5+ months where it sat in my office unfinished until a friend and I could tackle it again. If you're into learning this stuff I'd day its worth it, but if you're just wanting a cheaper option and think the build will be easy-peasy if you've never done anything like this before, maybe save some extra cash and get a finished one instead. It may save you some stress and headaches. All my negatives I listed about the wheel are also not Pokornyi's fault either. He was super helpful answering my questions and helping me, my warnings are more for people that may be thinking like I did that the build will be easy and over estimate their ability which could lead to unnecessary stress when ultimately mistakes will be made.

I feel you man. If you watched my build stream, I ran into a few issues too. But at the end, I got that satisfying feeling, I built something beautiful. I can't wait to start my next build.

I thought the grips were a bit thin at first impression. After driving with it for some time, I found that I prefer these grips and ergonomics over my other more expensive wheels. I've sold some of my other more expensive wheels as I simply stopped using them after this build. I have high praise for PE. I had issues with the PCB, only to find out I did some thing wrong. Support responded quickly and we were able to identify the issue (user error).

You know man, after using this wheel for over a week now. I'm thinking the same thing. The grips feel really good. I guess I was so used to thicker grips, lol.

i have a few PE wheels and i love building them. i like that we have the option to either build it on a budget or bling it out. i 3d printed the body and shifters but i bought the aluminum knobs and button plate. i to wish simhub would recognize the PE wheels natively. the simhub dev said if PE added a different encoder, or something like that, it would work. so its more hardware related that something needs to be added.

It was great to build and I had lots of fun doing it. That what I like about it, you can go as crazy as you want with the build. Ah, that makes sense. I also saw they sent Daniel Newman some rims to make some LED profiles too.

It does man. It's based of the wheels Cosworth makes for prototype and open wheel cars.

can the LED profile be use with GTE Wheel ?

It might work, sine they are similar, you might have to do some editing in the simhub led profile especially with the buttons.
