No use in core gameplay for YOU. If the niche theme isn’t for you then don’t get the pack. Some people play with vampires everyday, some people make all their sims celebrities, some people use knitting all the time, that’s why the niches are DLC and not in the main game because you don’t have to get it.

Most people buy those packs, play them once or twice then never touch them again. It’s good to have a pack I know I’ll constantly be playing with everyday and fits really well into how I play the sims.

If you know you're not going to play strangervile more than once don't buy strangervile. You don't HAVE to buy ALL the DLC you know? Niche packs ARE those packs that you get a lot of use out of for some people. You may not like knitting, I LOVE having my Sims make gifts for their kids and using Plopsy. And like I said I could argue why core things should be in the main game itself and packs would be more for niches. You pay extra for something you want instead of something you need. Just simply DONT buy the things you don't want. It's quite literally harder to buy the things you don't want, why are you complaining? Do you just WANT to give EA more of your money? I thought the same thing! I get that it's too late to change teen's heights but I will always be upset over it on some level. They should have fixed it in the first year of release. It's one of the most glaring reminders that sims 4 has always been a watered-down, more expensive version than the previous games. These critiques do not mean I hate 4, there is a lot I love about it, but there are things I'm not going to forget that EA made 4 bad until very recently.

Sure, 16-19 yr olds might be tall, but the video game encompasses 13-19 and it should average that so these video game teens should be a size between child and adult, not actual adult size.

@@SunshineStorm The issue isn't even the height..it's their body shape and faces which makes these "teens" like 20+ years old. In Sims 2 they actually look 13-17 cause they have baby faces and less developed bodies; they are also shorter than adults and have their own teenage wardrobe.

It's insane to me how people call this pack a waste of money. Like, they legit added boba tea. There are so many CLOTHES, I guess I see how people say it should've been a game pack but the school is still functional! I always had a hard time having my teenage sims meet other teens and this is a great opportunity for that! The social media and thrift shop alone would've sold it for me. And people act like they aren't getting what they paid for 🙄 If you're going and getting upset over this, what life do you have outside of The Sims? I'm a simmer too, but what does it take for people to be happy with what they get?

I’m not gonna lie this looks good, I am hopeful. By the looks of things The high school is not a rabbit hole but a get to work style immersive experience. Thank God, This will make it so much easier for our teen Sims to make friends. The cheerleading part of it looks good. And I’m glad that there’s a practice mat for at home practice. I hope there is some kind of like popularity system. The social media and gaming stuff as well as the carnival area looks interesting. I don’t know I’m feeling hopeful.

Tbh that isn't something to be mad about. There is only 12 students allowed to spawn because of players with bad PCs. Besides, as long as you aren't a console player, there's the option of downloading a mod that allows 24 students which fills up the entire school. I'd recommend downloading that

Not to disappoint you but most 30yr olds I know have extra lbs, no style, wrinkles or fine lines and hair loss. The 30 year old people you see playing as teens are attractive adults who really take care of themselves. And nowadays teens try to make themselves look "hot" and look like in their 20s so I don't think the teens in this game are too unrealistic.

It looks interesting. I wish one of the updates they did was to make teenagers shorter and “ganglier” than adult Sims, because they still look like adults dressed as teens. It reminds me of CW shows and movies where they try to pass off 20-something-year-olds as 16-year-olds. The carnival/faire was a surprise. I hope they offer a variety of after-school events in addition to the scouts and drama club. I also hope there is a normal size microscope in here. When would be a better time to add it?

As excited as I am for this, it would have been nice to add pre-teens as a new age as to give a more fluid separation between kid and teen. I don't like how when a kid aged from a teen, their appearance goes from 7 to 16 within a blink of an eye. There is so much that goes on between those ages. It also would have been nice if this pack didn't just include only high school if this is and college are the only schools that will not be a rabbit hole. I might be outlier here, but I think it would be fun to play as an elementary school aged sim in school. Middle school, I'm not a fan of (too many hormones and bad memories from that time period), but I am sure there are other simmers that are.

As a devoted console simmer, I have such high hopes for this! I’ve ALWAYS wanted a school pack that would give my sims more life (instead of staring at the screen until 3p). And this year I kept thinking about some sort of amusement park pack/world. Great to see some sort of possible mixture of both those things. Really hope they deliver.

I already expect the worst since alot of the trailers showed they werent rabbitholes (island living scubadiving, University classes) so dont expect too much on this What I think will happen is that there will be a hallway with multiple doors and each is basically a rabbit hole. Also the possible thing is the school itself might be a loading screen (so outside can be all those things they showed us eg.horror house) and the actual classes will be a rabbit hole but we do get to see the inside of the school Kinda like that bunker in strangerville. But each class will probably be in a rabbit hole behind a door in the school hallway.Since they would need to have to think about classes and how they work since each class would have time and schedule and 1 hour in Sim world is way to small if u are to be given a task and with simulation lag being a thing (even on vanilla) theres alot they nid to do and I dont see them doing that. Over all I do hope they break my expectations and actually do what the trailers show but having low expectations will lead to less disappointment

I really hope the High School is like the GTW or Get Famous acting lots. Your sims "go to school" and then go thru a loading screen to the lot. I really hope we can interact at school instead of just a rabbit hole!!

The thing is if it’s a high school EXPANSION pack then they have to allow for them to go to school and do more interactions because high school is a rabbit hole right now🥲😭

Personally I'd prefer a real high school but rabbit hole classes. Like the careers, I only want to play them through a few times, and since high school would be every day, every teen sim. I think classes would get boring really quick.

As a simmer myself, I do certainly wish that in a patch update, they make classrooms interactive for Discover University, just like for High School Years, which had a similar approach to Sims 3: University Life

My only concern for this pack is the significant lack of nerdy + other stuff, I wanna see the kids who were part of the dnd club, or the students who were always in the woodworking part of the school, the awkward band kids, etc etc basically I want some imperfection in the highschool experience- overall though the pack looks EXCELLENT! Hope it lives up to the standard the trailer is building 👌🏻

woodworking isn’t really a common high school experience & neither are dnd (not to mention that requires licensing) clubs. it’s pretty niche in comparison to sports, chess clubs, band, etc.

@@theminegirl3775 have you seen how expensive prom dresses are? Even renting one can cost a lot. And actually you have to buy lunches and supplies for any school. I was bullied on the bus and in class so I was removed from being on the bus. So my mom was driving us to school every morning and picking us up after school every afternoon. Homeschooling cut down on using gas in our personal vehicles and sometimes we only had 1 working vehicle that needed to be driven to work and wasnt available to take us to school. School supplies and paying for school books from a school costs more than buying books from online or at a store. Being poor caused the bullying, as well, because we couldn't afford to participate in the book fairs, money for fieldtrips, brand new clothes and backpacks every semester, ect. So your financial status does tend to interfere with your schooling.
