James Hinkle they’re on every single expansion, game and stuff pack for sims 4, this one was never gonna be an exception. they could release a sims 4 game called the sims 4 everything you’re all asking for, island paradise, university, supernatural, vacations etc and people will say why wasnt this all sold seperately or they’re so desperate for money or even ask for one more feature they somehow missed. what people dont realise is that people were like this with every sims 3 expansion pack, comparing it to sims 2 or 1. it’ll more than likely continue with sims 5, with people comparing it to sims 4

The new pack is gonna be about Strangetown and the infectious disease known as Strangetown Syndrome that has been talked about in both Sims 2 and Sims 3. The gurus seem to be infected, and the various weird facial expressions hint more at that being the case. Strangetown Syndrome looks like it was based off of Minamata Disease (non-fictional), due to both seemingly spreading through water. Minamata Disease was this phenomenon of mercury poisoning in a Japanese city because the waters got infected, and people were starting to look deformed and showed symptoms of mental illness after drinking it or eating the fish that lived in it. I analysed the positions of the various sims, and they all look very deformed (especially the hands, just like with the actual Minamata Disease, search up _Tomoko Uemura_ and look for pictures of her fingers) and have wide eyes, which are all symptoms of the Minamata Disease, or Strangetown Syndrome as depicted in the game. So they are displaying symptoms of severe mercury poisoning, except here it can be spread like a virus. Perhaps it has something to do with aliens, like a ship crashed and fluids from other planets leaked into Strangetown's waters and people started to drink it, and after that Strangetown was deemed strange because everyone was infected, weird and deformed due to the wide-spread phenomenon of poisoning? EDIT: I. Was. Right.

I think Jungle Adventure has a lot more to offer than just the exploring gameplay. It has really nice CAS and build items and Selvadorada is a really cool world. I assume Strangeville will be a really fun world and it looks like it’ll have some really great items and probably a military career. I won’t buy this pack until I see other people play it, but I do think it’ll have more to offer than a weird zombie storyline. Simmers are always asking for more occults as well, so that’ll be pretty cool.

JuanEvil Once again, it’s something they’ve put time and effort into. It’s not something they just spat out and expected money for (cough, my first pet, cough) but they genuinely put time and effort into this, and it’s clear by sale rates that people are enjoying the change of gameplay style. They could’ve pumped out any bullshit gamepack without immersive gameplay and rabbit holes for everything, but considering what they’ve done for the sims 4 in the past, I think it’s clear they put time and energy into this, and it shows. Things that should be added/fixed in the game (ts4) in my personal opinion: -Horses and deers (in the pets pack). -More interactions with the babies & toddlers. For example: you can make an automatic storller so the baby would be taken by their parent anywhere, (but still keep the option of hiring nanny or kindergarten) and maybe a feature so the parents could sleep with their babies/toddlers in the same bed. oh also add bunk beds asap. -Natural disasters as meteors, earthquakes, hurricanes in specific areas (so the sims will finally actually use their basements) it also will spread awareness. -Sunburn in seasons expansion pack. -Supermarkets(you can add it to get to work or dine out) places where the sims will be able to ACTUALLY buy food and argue with the people around while waiting in intense. -Airports and traveling feature -again, more arguing(add plane crash disaster so there will be the ability of sims finding themselves in island ). It could be a nice pack. -cars, Trains, homeboats and other vehicle things, instead of loading screen, fake backgrounds and fake sims. -stop being lazy and making some stuff looking as some prehistoric game. -stop making some non existent cars drive thru the sims (it's silly and uncool). -Open the ability of sims swimming at the beach and floaties for toddlers (in seasons pack, as in ts3). -abilty of building an igloo ( eskimos deserve more). -make a huge amount of snow so the sims will have a day off (c'mon, they dont deserve global warming ). -Make ability of toddlers and babies dying from fire, at least (life should be fair) or just add the firefighters. -Idk why do we actually need the police, if there's NO burglars in the sims 4. (Add them asap, and make an ability that the sims could fight them or calling the police while panicking ). -curved staircases. -university expansion pack( everyone wants it.) And that's the list for now . Hopefully you will fix those problems to make the game a little bit better and enjoyable. Edit: my expectations are too high lol

Strangetown was a lot of people’s favorite expansion in Sims 2. Not everything is going to be your favorite. You aren’t meant to buy every single pack. I'm near the end of the mystery and just came back to this trailer to say I've been having SO much fun playing it!! It took me a while to get the pack but I'm glad I finally did. I really like the new paranoid trait, the new animations, the world, the CAS (especially for guys!) , and the overall aesthetic. I think the idea of a gamepack with a storyline is actually very fun; it wouldn't work for an EP imo but as a GP having that focus is so engaging!

That's pretty much what they did. They used the Sims 2 style of limited lots (You know, so the game will actually run) and combined it with the ability to actually leave your house and visit other people's. As a compromise between 2 and 3 it works very well. Could still use cars though, and a better build mode.

To this day this is still in my top 3 favorite game packs. So much work was put into it (In case you're wondering my top 3 are: 1. Werewolves 2. Parenthood 3. Strangerville

Okay but this is actually so cool. After playing since the very first Sims this so intriguing to get more of the story. The storylines and characters throughout all the games have always had a lot of mystery to dig and find out about. Now we get more to that storyline. Plus people keep complaining that the Sims 4 is boring because it is so up to the player and how they play and less like Sims 2 where the game played along almost as well. This is now combining that into the game, if that's a way you'd enjoy playing. I'm down to see more!

Yeah I loved the whole narrative style they had in Sims 1 and 2 and the spinoff handheld games like Urbz and Sims Bustin Out, it was super unique. I don't think this will live up to all that exactly considering Will Wright and Maxis are both gone but at least they're trying.
