A half bath would fit in the little column piece with the door off the hallway and a toilet and sink on either side. It might be useful to have a toilet by the office for gameplay

I feel like James doesn’t appreciate enough having your working desk in front of a window. Having a glimpse of the outside while working from home can be a real, although short, escape. This takes me back to Tiny Town Vivienne’s office, also facing a wall instead of the two beautiful windows 😢

For base game builds I just use a shelf (multiple obv) as a curtain rod when needed. It's the best hack ever for making everything look cohesive when there are gaps!

I love that you’re still so experimental with your builds James after all these years! And I also appreciate that your cognizant of what the other buildings in the neighborhood look like… I am much the same way when planning my hoods. I do wish, though that you would get over your obsession about not having tall things in the middle of the build. Certainly, you don’t want the entire center of the build to be filled with tall items, but the occasional one that makes sense to the flow of the room Really isn’t that big of a deal! Thanks for the video 😉😉

I don't know if it's just me but the rich wood tone and the style of the windows and front door made me really nostalgic for the Sims 3... It feels like the build style of that game 🤔

I have literally jumped on before I leave work and head home to watch this, but I could watch you recreate each EA build (from all packs) because it’s so fascinating to watch and gives me inspiration for any builds I want to do. Please keep renovating/rebuilding these because they’re awesome!

The Semaj Renrut Seal of Approval - every nook and cranny inspected and tested for your comfort. I feel like that now needs to be a category on the gallery. I shall never trust another builder again unless their selfsim has tested the build! That's commitment right there!

Can't wait to download this house to push the couch more towards the TV wall to get more space around the dining table and add an easel to the room in the corner 😂 But I really like the refreshes of the base game houses. Updating the commercial lots would be awesome as well. As much as I like your let's plays, it's nice to see more build videos again 🫶

This house looks a million times better! My trick for lighting the outside if I use columns is to shrink the cheap ceiling lights and put 1 here and there inside the top of a column 😉

I recently played in this BG house (kept the Layout, got rid of the furniture), and found it decent enough as is. I think i only switched the doors out to newer BG additions (cheaper and smaller), but the rooms have good sizes, especially compared to other BG homes. This is great inspo for the outside, when my Sim can afford the remodel 👍she accidentally had twins, too, so the many rooms actually all get used, now. The house in Johnny Zest's Neighbourhood are so much worse, looking forward to James' re-freshes of those!

The nice thing about the floor to ceiling cabinet is you can put the money trash can completely inside of that cabinet, and then just drag plates and garbage and stuff into it during game play.

These refreshes are so fun to me not only because they look nice and it's fun to see a more in-depth look at the building process as someone who sucks at it lol buuuut also I've been playing an Oasis Springs townie rotational play save file, so the original homes are so familiar to me! I re-did this house as time went on too, it just didn't look as nice haha

See that’s the thing James. EA needs to start doing their job and quit half a$$ing on it. They have been releasing up to 91 DLCs and that is a disgrace. That is something they should not be proud of. Let alone have you and others to clean up after them.

I seriously can't understand how they can come up with such useless flop builds, because any youtuber I've seen, minus people who have never played this game, make their 10 minute challenge builds better than houses they have the entire dev cycle to improve.

Too late now, but I wonder if you could keep that privacy screen idea with the hallway arch on the other side, but then mostly mirror the interior. The bathroom and kitchen could move to the side with the two bedrooms, with one of those bedrooms replacing the kitchen.
