@11:30 it would definitely be interesting to see a full scale retro mod of your design style, BUT that would have better of chance of coming to fruition if you would integrate Road legal requirements into your redesigns, such as keeping the side marker reflectors/lights and front and rear license plate mountings. Part of the biggest challenge car manufacturers have is making a car look good whilst still complying with DMV laws. Also to best market/sell car retro mod is to not remove features people expect to have with a car, such as truck access. Which like in this redesign you’ve purged said implied access by removing the hatchback parting lines along the rear fenders and rear-end. Yet you left said hatch access lines alongside the rear glass, thus implying the glass portion opens but now have to reach through or over the high rear spoiler to access the vehicle, which would be beyond cumbersome to say the least. One other note that in order to accommodate that air tunnel on the lower part of the rear you’d need to re-engineer the entire back end chassis to relocate the fuel tank and suspension system. Isn’t design for engineering/manufacturing part of master degrees?

I like what you're going for, however the perspective is off and the sharper lines of the new rear don't flow with the existing body, in my opinion. I'd like to see you push your boundaries and make more changes to the body and glass house in your future redesigns.

Agreed! Except, I don't like what he's going for. Hes tried to give a muscle car finish on a JDM icon. Looks terrible but the skills to attempt it are unquestionable (apart from the incorrect angles/perspective). He normally gets his angles correct. Yo Sketch, what happened??

I understand the idea, and it's awesome that people like it. I have some issues with it; Somehow, the shape of the rear end makes the entire car look a lot smaller + when the lights aren't as widely placed, I feel like it loses some of it's 'beefiness' which has always been a quality of the Supra. Nice video tho :)

I think the redesign is great, but I liked the front-end redesign better. The back isn't too busy or aggressive, but it almost seems like there's to much purposeless space. You kept the feel of the original, but something is just off about the space under the taillights. Other than that, it's amazing.

Byron Bay is north of Sydney much closer to Brisbane. The exhaust pipes look like they are pointed straight at us not straight out of the back of the car and I think a sharper crease is needed on the front wheel arch to closer match the rear otherwise it is a really nice redesign.

Even though you say you love the A80 Supra's design, it doesn't seem like you put a lot of effort into this re-design. It looks like the rear is bent to the right and some of the shadows are off. The exhaust tips look like stickers and the actual tail section looks like a cursed Dodge Charger. It honestly looks completely off. I get where you were going with this and even if it turned out good, I'd still prefer the A90 over it, much like I prefer the A90 over the normal A80 in pretty much every way. I'm not saying I could do any better, I have no experience in designing cars with a pen and paper myself, but this is far from your best work.

When he was doing the tail light area, I initialy got FD RX7 vibes (especially if you think of the VeilSide tails), then came Dodge Charger vibes, then finally S13 180/200/240sx vibes... Damn thas a lot

Pretty good overall. The only thing that really needs to be done is to lower the car closer to the ground; As it stands right now, the large amount of clearance between the ground and the undercarriage of the car makes it look like a high-strung “penalty box”, to borrow a quote from a review of the 2018 Nissan Versa SV.

Should've went with round headlights in the rear, instead of 4 go with 3. The integrated ducktail is too flat IMO, you should've made like in the MK5, it's gets higher in the middle and lower at the sides. You forgot the spoiler btw, make it something like TRD's wing.

concerning your future dream: you probably will be able to use deep fake AI in the future to turn a drawing or several along with a 3D scan of the real car into a 3d model. Then 3D print body parts will be an option. applying the body panels on the car will be something you might just learn as an additional part of your hobby, maybe with a friend at the beginning. But as technology advances, you might get there. personally, I think its a bit of a quirky hobby to reshape real life cars but I bet if you a name in that scene you could even sell a lot of one-of-a-kinds. Good look ^^

I remember when this Toyota Supra Mark 4 was first launched. We knew immediately that it was Toyota's version of the Ferrari F40. That's what stole its thunder back then, the Japanese were still deep in the business of ripping-off western designs. I have no clue why they are now getting popular. But I always thought it was a better version of the F40 though.

To me one of the biggest things were the tail lights and honestly half way through the vid you still had them on. I see this tail light design on Dodge cars and I think it takes away a lot from the supra style. but to each their own.
