i am very stressed with this plugin. But finally this worked for me: I change my skethcup from 2019 to 2017. And your curve geometry must be perfect: it mean there is no straight line on the middle of your curve space. you cannot hide or delete it. it must be perfect (no line in the centre) from the first create. This is work for me after many many Trying !!! (still not worked at sketchup2019, so i think its not compatible with sketchup2019.

Why I can't impose grid? I tried your instructions but mine doesn't work?Why? Sketchup made me stress and mad at this. I'm tired of this error. I just wanna try to make it work.
@ThesketchupessentialsАй бұрын
Few things - first make sure that you've got your grouping set up right - that's the #1 error I see with Flowify. Second, your base shape and target shape must both have 4 corners. If they don't have 4 corners it won't work. Third - start with a simpler shape/test first to make sure you've got the fundamentals right. If you can't get it working on something simple, you won't be able to on something complex. Thanks
@lawrencedavecelezii7142Ай бұрын
@@Thesketchupessentials I have 4 corners but still never work, is there something to fix or I'm always wrong about what i did even I tried my best to make it work.
@ThesketchupessentialsАй бұрын
@@lawrencedavecelezii7142 If you've never gotten it to work, you need to probably start with simpler shapes and examples until you understand the mechanics of the extension. Have you tried just replicating exactly what's done in the tutorial, without customization or your own shape and seeing if that can work?

What tool does the reverse action of flowify? How do you project a curved pattern on a surface?
@johnytzman95532 жыл бұрын
is it posiible to project something in a quarter of sphaire?
@hennywong15174 жыл бұрын
hi i have a question... flowify transferred the geometry we created to the surface but its "distorted", any suggestion what extension might be able to put the pattern evenly on the desired surface without distorting it? thanks a bunch!!
@Thesketchupessentials4 жыл бұрын
No idea - really depends on the shape. Probably need to adjust the size of your base group so that it's longer
@borispalic37694 жыл бұрын
I hate to be that guy, but I followed you tutorial on how to make a voronoi tunnel and I succeeded in copying your design. However, when I attempted to do my version of a tunnel, it did not work. I watched and re watched the tutorial several times and checked and double checked that my groups are set up correctly. but I was still unbale to impose a grid on the surface and it wasn't working. Any tips for it?
@Thesketchupessentials4 жыл бұрын
Try a simpler design and see if that works? Something in that new design is different than what was in the old one that's making it not work, but I don't know what that is...

@@Thesketchupessentials Hi justin, tnx for your great contribution to all sketchup users, your'e the best! I actually did all the same and it won't impose a grid, could you tell what could be the reason for that?

Thanx for all the help. A problem that has been bothering me for a long time is when I import a picture to paint on an object. If my photo's perspective is not perfect, then I struggle to use it as paint. Is there a way I can get the perspective of a photo right before I use import it into Sketchup?
@Thesketchupessentials7 жыл бұрын
I think probably what you need to do is use the position texture tools by right clicking on your texture. You can use the "distort" push pin to try to adjust the perspective of a photo once it's applied to a face. Did that make sense?
@fouraces37613 жыл бұрын
Hey justin, i have a question, does this applies to any object from 3d warehouse? I found this wood screening from the warehouse and am wondering if it works for flowify too

Is there any way to apply geometry onto a tapered cylinder? I am struggling with flowify due to the curved sides.
@Thesketchupessentials6 жыл бұрын
I don't think the curved sides are an issue as much as creating your cylinder as a 4 sided shape is the issue. You could cut the cylinder in half then flow along each half, since half a cylinder with the top removed is a 4 sided shape
@oliverrjlees6 жыл бұрын
@@Thesketchupessentials Thanks for the reply. I have tried the half cylinder setup as you suggest but I can not get the grid to impose. I believe it is due to the curved sides of the cylinder, resulting from the taper? snag.gy/WjnZts.jpg

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong, but when I do the components, it's never recognizing the original and when I test the components as a whole with the push/pull tool, it's not picking up the original one. I've even tried to copy and paste over another component over the first one, it still doesn't respond.

Generally, that indicates that your groups aren't set up properly. Try following the process I talk about in this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmWZdIKIgq2tfbM) using the outliner to make sure everything is grouped properly. Usually that's the issue. Thanks!

@Thesketchupessentials7 жыл бұрын
Well, actually, probably both of them are. :) I just wanted to start with simple, easy to work with examples. That said though, once you start working with faces that bend along more than one axis at once, Flowify seems like a much better option. Thanks!

Every time i try this am not just getting impose grid output and the flowify shows error....step by step i do right follow the command but still the impose grid output shows error...how to rectify?
@Thesketchupessentials6 жыл бұрын
Does it work if you try it with a more simple shape? Also, double check the way your grouping is set up again. 99% of the time, the reason the grid doesn't show up is because the grouping of the objects is wrong. Thanks!
