I hope before I get too old, they remaster skylanders. It would be such a breath of fresh air in the current gaming climate. Everything’s become so similarly stale, and I could definitely see skylanders making a remastered comeback sometime in the late 2020s or early 2030s.

As a former skylander collector, seeing a collection like this now amazes me. I used to watch youtubers like Skylander Boy and Girl (Aka Fgteev from a few years ago) and 1ofwiisdom for the unboxing. I used to collect skylanders a lot. But when I was still in my teens and still feeling desperate for some money, I've traded-in my skylanders for some cash, and had pre-ordered the dark edition for swap force back then too. Except I mostly played Giants, Swap Force, and Trap Team only. Just looking back now and looking at the online prices on ebay. Skylanders are still surprisingly affordable. May have to get back to it, since recently I kept getting Skylanders trap team stuck in my mind

I remember back in 2011 struggling to collect all the skylanders as I live in a rural area. Wham-shell was near impossible to get. After that I stopped because I didn't see the point of getting remakes of characters in giants. Your collection is impressive and it's interesting how you can remember all their names. I was 11 back when this stuff came out and one day when i came home from school my dad had surprised me with the starter set along side a handfull of figures and ever since then i collected them till the last 2 games which i hardly had any of. After that I just kept them in a bag stuffed in my closet for years. Mainly cause after a while the skylanders just die.. Lights wont work and sometimes they get moldy too. Also the portals lights stop working aswell.. Now theyve been replaced by funko pops. Kinda have regrets opening them all. Wasnt really into collecting the variants cause it was just the same thing in game. Now they arent worth anything.. Always find em hogging shelves at buy sell trade stores. Recently i gave away all of mine to goodwill. Maybe they made one of the employees days to resell them.

Collectors hate hearing it but… *technically* Heartbreaker Buckshot still counts as a base figure since it works in-game. Even though it was never released, very few of them do exist in the wild to my knowledge

I don’t hate hearing it, but unfortunately only prototypes of Heartbreaker Buckshot have been discovered. He never received an official release. Many prototypes do have working chips, and by that logic I would have to include the hundreds of other unreleased characters. That just doesn’t seem fair when classifying a “base set” in my opinion. Though I would love a Heartbreaker in my collection someday haha
