Audio quality was very good on this video, many thanks! Wow ... 24 minutes flew by, Kelly is quite the story teller!

Very nice as usual! I have used this fly for years and have adapted it to a couple different insects. It does float like a cork and rides flush in the surface film- both critical considerations to me.

Great video Kelly! Do you have recipe or video on the Butch Sally?
@dmm31246 жыл бұрын
I can't wait to try this on warm water fish. Bluegills will hit this size and smallies will hit sizes 10 and 8. This fly is a combination of the Madame X, stimulator and is close to the devil bug by Gary Borger.

Thank you for switching back to the closeup from in front of you instead of to the side. Much appreciated.

Hi Kelly, i can not find Z-Yarn in EU. Guess Poly-Yarn is a bit stiff an thick? Antron is not a good floater, so what to use? What would you recommend as the best substitute? Maybe there is anybody else who knows a nice substitute from the common companies available in EU? Kelly, great videos! Keep up the nice work! Maybe you can show us some more small trout Streamers? Like the Mini-Dungeon or even smaller?
@kellygalloup60735 жыл бұрын
Fliegen, Z-yarn is antron just another name for it, so your good to go if you have antron, you can use poly as well. Thanks for watching. Kelly

@@kellygalloup6073 Kelly, thank you for the fast reply! I will tie some with antron for swedish trout fishing next summer. Thanks for all the inspiration. You made me a better flytier.

Excellent video, great looking pattern. I’m going to try it out on some bluegills and bass, too. The only thing missing here is a photo of Kelly with a butch. Maybe Johnny can dig one up. 😆

Got a lot of old pics of Kelly with a mullet, but I’ve only seen jim with a butch once James

I feel like when I tie my wing back, the hair flares too much and the profile is too wide. Anything I’m doing wrong there, or do I just need to trim it?
@boydgravesvlogs25624 жыл бұрын
What about white yarn 🤔for the wing 🤔

Nice as a caddis or a yellow Sallie , I like it :-)

Thanks for the video! I tied some to the exact specs/with the same materials (minus the rubber legs and I probably used a little more deer hair than you did) and when I tested them in some water, they sank in a short amount of time. Should I be using a floatant or should they float naturally? Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Maybe too much dubbing?
@TheSlideinn3 жыл бұрын
Try using half as much dubbing as you think you need and always put floatant on dry flies

Hello Kelly, Do you use Fiskars cissors for Fly Tying?

Excellent. Thanks Kelly. I'm a little confused as to what this is supposed to be representing. Is it a pharate coming to the surface, or an egg-laying adult coming back up?
@alc6092 жыл бұрын
Is the pattern just isolated to your area? Or would this be a pattern that would work also here in East Tennessee? Never thought about cutting wings back.
@TheSlideinn2 жыл бұрын
Everywhere that I have been that has some caddis, I have caught fish on this fly. They also eat it well for a spruce month, but I dont believe you guys have those out east!

@@TheSlideinn to my knowledge we don’t have the spruce, but a lot of insects getting hauled in here on firewood
