I hope you enjoy the video, it’s only for a bit of fun and obviously I don’t take these comments seriously. I have so many more lovely comments and kind people watching my videos, it took some digging to find these. Everyone deals with ‘hate’ differently and I am trying to turn it into something positive, we all need a laugh at the moment ❤️ I also had to throw in comments from the absolute legends that have also named their tortoise Sheldon 😊

Thank you, I think she’s lovely too. Are you based in the UK? If you are and wanted to adopt, check out the tortoise protection group rehoming page on their website or Facebook page. If not, I would have a look for a reputable breeder. There are a lot of helpful tortoise Facebook groups 😊

@@BeckysAnimals When I was a boy in the,50,s,,(yes I am that old) it was possible to buy a tortoise for 2/6(12•5pence).The poor beasts were packed into trays like pork pies , awful really.The death rate must have been 99•99% in the first winter alone, thank goodness the rules have been tightened up considerably.With a bit of luck you can bequeath Sheldon in your will (In the distant future of course 😀)

It’s remarkable how tortoise care has moved on, it would be interesting to look more into how tortoises used to be cared for. I know a lady in her 80s who had a tortoise and told me they used to drill a hole in their shells to be able to tie them to a post to stop them wandering off. Thank goodness so much has changed and we have access to so much information online! If all goes well. I hope Sheldon will outlive me... but yes, not too quickly haha 😊
