Granger was 15 feet away from the pool playing with the kids. Its nobody fault. Granger is a great dad and had no control in the situation. He was paying attention but by the time he got there River had already drown. It takes 20 seconds to already have your lungs filled. Lay off Granger, him and his family have gone through enough they don't need your negativity about a situation you know nothing about.

First of all my heart & prayers are with y’all. Y’all’s faith inspires me. About a scorpion sting, it was my daughters dog. The live in Fountain Colorado & those dang things are everywhere. All over the yard & quite a few got inside. She has a humongous Rottweiler who is about 5 years old & he got stung on his snout & was near death but thankfully he was able to get some antivenin & $900.00 later he was on the mend. He was in organ failure by time she got him to the vet. She sold that house last month & moved close to the springs hoping it would be better. Please be careful. My Aunt lived on a ranch just outside G-town when I was growing up and we spent lots of summers there. Scorpions were always, always, always around their inground pool and throughout the house. (Literally would see double digit numbers of them every single day throughout the summer.) It was a never ending battle and there was nothing that culled 'em or slowed 'em down. They, too, went through every exterminator in the greater Austin area and zilcho helped. We all quickly learned the two quickest ways to be stung....putting on shoes or jeans. Anytime your jeans are hung over a chair overnight, shake them out like mad. There's something about denim jean legs that attracted them. Haha! And always, always shake out your shoes before putting 'em on. I'd say a scorpion sting is a 7 on your 1-10 scale and we never found anything that "helped" besides time....and benadryl to prevent excessive swelling. Loving that "Future Aggie" shirt!! YEE YEE and Gig 'em!!!!

Smith family I am so sorry for your loss. It is unimaginable and I'm sure indescribable. I lost my mom and sister 15 years ago in 2003 due to a car accident. My now 20 yr old was almost 5 at the time. She was in the car and fighting for her life the roughest time of my life and the worst empty feeling I have ever felt in my life. I was so pissed at God and myself wondering could I have done something like keep them talking for one minute longer so they wouldn't of been there at that time. It took my 12 years to realize God has his reasons even if we have no idea what the reasons are. Keep the faith keep turning to God please. I didn't and got hooked on pain pills and went down a terrible path. I have been clean almost three years and looking to God again and things are so much better. You will always have the Love you shared with River and that is the most precious feeling God gives us on this Earth. You two are strong BEAUTIFUL people. To make the decision to give other children a chance to live and to keep other parents from this pain you feel is absolutely amazing. You all will get through this tough time with your family and God in your corner. Kelp your sons spirit alive through your love for him and your beautiful memories you made together. You also have all these BEAUTIFUL videos of him smiling and being sweet that you can watch forever. Don't know why you started these family videos but maybe this was the reason God guided you to start this channel, so River could touch so many lives with his beautiful smile, heart felt comments and even his cute whining. RIP sweet boy River. God will take care of mommy, daddy, Lincoln and London.

Meat tenderiser and water make a paste and put on the sting it will pull out the poison. leave on until dry. Afterwards use tea tree oil on the site of the sting it will help with the inflammation and itchiness. Hope this helps. God bless TX and you! Yall have a good day now!

My husband loves making his fires but right now in Tennessee it's to cold to hang out by the fire we moved up here 7 months ago and he was spending days out there burning moving trash and 1 day it was warm enough to have a cook out, I can't wait for it to get warm enough to have cook outs and sitting by the fire right now we're teaching our new dogs to hang out and play by it. I've been stung by one while putting wood on a fire, exact same scenario right on the palm of my hand. I've been stung by just about every stinging insect we have in Oklahoma and scorpion was definitely the worst, but comparable to a yellow jacket. I used some sting ointment and a cold pack and most of the pain was gone in about 6 hours.
