Another great video. Can't wait to get my new Spyder home and take off all the Tupperware to see what's underneath. To me that's part of the enjoyment and just see what's changed in the new 2020. Thank you for addressing that manual and the belt idler pulley. BC

You are the best, taking a new Spyder and showing us what’s involved with servicing the bike.👌👍This is one of the reason I watch this channel....just plain awesome. Always love the tech, especially when it’s a Spyder😉Thanks man...just loving the new Spyder’s 😁 Keep them coming😁😁

Thanks for the instruction . Not many people would take a new Spyder apart just to show how it’s done . I have a 2010 RT . Will not buy another one . Just to hard to work on . Thanks again for all what you do . I watch them all . May God bless your hole family.

Like I said in your last video ... I don't own a Spyder but find your instructions very interesting. You have to admit this work you did this weekend is going to make your pay day a little easier. One thing about working on mechanical equipment, many a weekend day I would be going over a manual to prep myself for the coming week. Nothing like getting the real job done with prior knowledge. Great video. I've been awake since midnight and had to back up your video a few times catching myself closing my eyes. lol

I wouldn't dream of disassembling my Eluder without a service manual even though I'd like to in order to dampen some squeaks and rattles! It's put together similarly with pins, screws, and tabs. With the days getting a little longer again maybe you'll find enough time for an after work ride? It's early, but it ain't bright and there's fog! Sipping coffee waiting for the work to begin. Have a great day. Peace and love.

Thanks for the show and tell. Keep doing them. They help those of us who would have a pro do the work but, it guides us in the direction of what’s right and proper. It’s a nice of spending a rainy afternoon here in the PacNW. 🤔🌦

Just a heads up. The only panel that needs to be removed is the service panel on the passenger side of the bike. Pop that off, slide brake fluid reservoir out of the way. Then remove oil filter. The driver side service panel can be removed for servicing the air filter. No tools required except for the 6mm allen for the drain bolt on passenger side, the T45 for the driver side drain plug, and the 36mm oil filter socket for oil filter housing. Just trying to help!

Great class on taking the Spyder apart. Makes me appreciate my '18 RTL, the '20 seems a little more complicated. As for the belt dampener, I felt vibration at 72-75mph right from day one, and it is/was a common malady among our fellow riders. I guess if you're cruising 60-65mph all day it is no real issue, but out here in the desert 75 is leisurely cruising. Ha..! Maybe BRP finally got to the root of the problem... Another great Spyder day. Be safe tomorrow (yesterday)..!

I was envisioning seeing another KZbin video on doing service on a new car ... all you need to do is remove the hood, left front fender, left front strut, and then the fender liner... and voila.. the oil filter is right there... ha ha. I like doing my own work, but I don't think I would want to service my own Spyder.

Thanks again so very much for the inside view of my Spyder. I hope both the future customers and ProCal appreciates your off-duty training. I sure do. Did I hear you say the first service was 3K miles? What would you say the brake-in milages would be? that's the time when you can 'ride it as if you stole it', LOL. Take care you two. Sure see why Kelly loves you so much. Ride like you are invisible. And I never assume I have the right away. -JackinSpokane.

I am new to the spyder world and trying to learn all I can your Channel is awesome keep up the great work I also have a question I am picking up my first spyder next week 2020 RT limited and wanted to know when the first oil change should be performed I asked the dealer they told me 600 miles and a cost of 399.00 which is really high. They are a new dealer and just started selling them this year I am their first Spyder sale I asked them how the alignment was they told me it was fine but they do not have a Laser alignment equipment so I am worried it was not checked. I trust you Shawn so that is why I am asking you when should the first Oil change and what service should be done?
@TheSmoaksVlogs4 жыл бұрын
The 1st service is at 3,000 miles..! No oil change is needed, nor recommended prior to that. Please follow the maintenance schedule outlined in the owners manual once you receive the unit. Don't worry about the alignment until you can find someone with good experience performing laser alignments on Spyders, as they're very close out of the box. Thanks Jim!!

Shawn: I am thinking about buying a 2020 RT. Have they "fixed" the issue of the zip ties being used to hold body panels together. I saw that in one of your other videos and was quite surprised by this somewhat Mickey Mouse way of installing the panels. Thanks...Rick H.
@TheSmoaksVlogs4 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, those incorrectly molded panels are a long forgotten memory now..! Lol The ones that came with them have been replaced. Before the replacement panel arrived, all the new bikes were coming with them from the factory. A very short lived issue... Thanks Rick!!
