Am I missing out on some sort of meme? You wouldn't need an especially powerful computer to render this. To begin with, since it's rendering a video, not a game, it doesn't have to be in real time. The computer can only render at 1 fps? That's fine. The render will take longer to complete, but that's basically the only consequence. The scene isn't particularly complex either - just Miku, a stage, and a background, with a few particles in the mix for fun. As a result, a fairly entry level modern GPU would be able to handle it. Any new $700 USD-ish entry level computer could have created this.
