Eaglemoss screwed up the saucer phaser banks too - that refit should have 6 banks on the dorsal top side, instead of 3 banks. Inexcusable.

I think it's more inexcusable that they don't seem to have any plans on revamping the ST2009 version of the ship to account for the more detailed saucer and proper paint on the secondary hull, warp engine details, and bussard collectors.

1:03 Id like to argue with that, beyond was amazing, and had all of star trek's key features and ideas, into darkness was bad though

I agree... Beyond was better than the first two Star Trek movies.. you kind of got the feeling in spirit of the original TV series...I'll defend it!

Oh balls! Cheers Eaglemoss. You’ve messed up the sculpt. The saucer has 6 phaser banks on the top and bottom of the saucer. Oh and let me guess the paint apps for the windows don’t align up? Paint slop? Glue slop? :(

The neck is still too far back on the secondary hull, and while the nacelle pylons now sweep back, them going from thick to thin doesn't look quite right. I've heard that the next Enterprise 1701 A will have the neck in the right place, and the bottom curve further back, more like the original films' Enterprise.

The ship was modified between pictures because it was a HIDEOUS design. I don't buy this business of "keeping it fresh." They KNEW a significant portion of the fanbase HATED this design. The problem was that the ship was never balanced that well and you can't fix something that's screwed up this badly. You have to restart from scratch but the art department didn't do that here. Well, it doesn't matter anymore because the JJ-Verse films ARE OVER. The box office failure of Star Trek Beyond didn't help but the final kibosh was Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth. Those two actors had enough stable gigs for the next few years that they didn't have to do another Star Trek film and I doubt many people were looking for another film from these filmmakers (JJ Abrams, Orci, Kurtzman) considering how poorly those films were scripted! This isn't even Star Trek anymore -- it's The Fast and Furious in space. That's how dumb these films are. Right now, Star Trek fandom is SPLIT. There's the new blood and guys who always take whatever scraps are given from the studios who don't understand why people are upset. Three mediocre films, a bad TV series, and the Axanar lawsuit have turned people against CBS and Paramount... and what do the powers-that-be do? They put the guys who screwed it up in 2009 in charge of Star Trek for the forseeable future!!

Aesthetic was one component in bringing the design to the more recognizeable shape, but it was director Justin Lin's mandate to have the ship changed, he expressed the idea that the ship must appear to have significant weaknesses against the Altamid swarm ships, thinning the struts and the neck. this was confirmed by not just Mr Lin but Doug Chiang and Sean Hargreaves.

Some people heat the plastic and try to bend it into shape but if you heat it for too long you burn the plastic, or you can snap it off and reglue it

I took the saucer off and sanded off the neck joint completely and restuck it back together. There’s something not quite right about the neck joint and the saucer hole i found
