You really just need to ask the right questions tbh. And you learn to 'translate' answers by customers after a while. I have a Master's degree in Interior Architecture and a Bachelor in Architecture...finished in 2012 and you'll get better at it with time.

@cosma cosma I get that. Not Knocking anyones professional work. I think I just mean on a more personal level, tiny details, specific objects, some things are only collectively understood over time. Also their audience/clientele is on the younger side/college age so their needs and wants would be different than say a working professional, business, or family.

She cut out a stencil with the words, stuck it to the mirror and sprayed bleach on it! (she painted it too I think but you could leave it like that) and I guess that's it! :)

I am so glad I watched this video! I was starting to question my interior design skills and talent because I took so long designing my own home, but when I am doing a job for someone else I kick it into gear just like you did here! I almost lost my confidence since I haven't worked in a few years and took so long in remodeling and with thevinterior design of my new home? Thanks for confirming for me that we don't lose it, we just are creative in different time tables during different times and jobs, if you want them done spectacularly... Wonderfully done and I am sure with a friendly budget. I just love it!

Here's a measuring tip I learned the hard way: don't assume right angles. Buildings can settle. For example, just because a wall is 8'2" wide at the baseboard, doesn't mean it's the same width at the bottom of window height or near the ceiling, or that the opposite wall in the same room is also 8'2". It might only be 8'. Windows and door frames that look straight vertically can also be off kilter enough that furniture I thought would fit actually doesn't fit.

This video low key came at the perfect time. I actually just painted a room for the first time, and I did on my own completely and it was haaard let me tell you (especially since I’m a tiny girl) but it was so worth it. I also had a design vision and planned out everything and it looks so good! I highly recommend that anyone in the comments who was considering doing over a room try it, so worth it!!

For the mirror vinyl DIY, use etching cream! Creates a frosted finish on glass and mirrors without destroying the vinyl stencil.
