No brainer for panning really. If your listening to a flute player in an orchestra on the right of stage of course your gonna get some sound in your left ear too. But its the added modulation effects that really sets this apart from other panners. Again the best ideas for music apps are always the simplest. Well done Klevgrand.

I guess it's a slightly different approach, but now that 3-D spatial audio is becoming a thing, being able to do something more sophisticated with stereo should be the goal for developers now.

I totally agree. I have Airpod Pros and they create a really nice 3D space that makes you feel very locked in. This sounds more natural.
