I spent my childhood and early adulthood fishing the Brandywine River up off PA Route 100. We would evening and night fish and that place was crazy with paranormal activity. We would hear trees crashing into the water and never saw a tree in the water. I also went into Brandywine Battlefield at night with friends and there were silent musket shots all over the place. It was reddish orange flashes popping up all over the place. Very creepy.

I had a list of over 1,800 haunted places in Pennsylvania. My favorite haunts are the ghosts of the Fairmount Park houses. Mount Pleasant is particularly haunted. And the houses of Germantown Avenue. The Battle of Germantown took place there. The Chew House, or Cliveden, has a headless ghost of a woman who was killed during the battle. Grumblethorpe has blood stains that won’t disappear. I’ve seen Chestnut Hill College’s ghost in St. Joseph’s Hall. In 1997, I was a sophomore there. I was a commuter, and I liked one of the alcoves off the rotunda. It was around 1:00 PM. I know this because All My Children was on in another alcove. I watched a ghostly woman dive to her death from the 5th floor. Legend has it that she was a novice who became pregnant.

I live in Cambridge Springs, PA. The Riverside Inn the last remaining operational Victorian hotel of my hometown was also haunted before it got destoryed by fire. Thanks for covering PA! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

The only thing scary about Brandywine Creek is Maintenance Hill (Delaware side). You are not a real cross country runner until you've tried to "conquer The Creek." My fear was always that I'd slip on a leaf and break my head running down "Maintenance Hill." I did while I was in college for a post Thanksgiving open meet that, for whatever reason, I decided my Father and I should run because I was on break from cross/track season and it would be fun. I slipped on a leaf and nearly broke my head open if not for the fact that it was the coldest day of the year ever at The Creek and I had two very heavy knit caps on. Run "The Creek." It will change you.
