Fantastic alterations - feels like new makes I’m sure 😊

Well done for tackling the dreaded alterations! The elephant print fabric would look amazing as a panel blocked with a plain fabric as part of something like a shirt or a jacket. You could use it on the back of a jacket mixed with a denim or navy drill type fabric 😍

It'd be really cool - but I don't think I'd wear it - I very rarely wear jackets! Maybe if I have an elephant left I could save it for an appliqué somewhere though

Lovely to see alterations Laura. With the elephant fabric, could you possibly add a plain border to the waist and bottom hem in a coordinating fabric. The elephants are gorgeous.

Ooh I hadn't thought of adding to the top too but I'm definitely doing this. I've unpicked it now just trying to decide on the fabric!

Your alterations are fantastic and inspirational even although as you say they were simple to do. I think the the fact you now have two new garments and you love them is great.....the elephant fabric would look good as a skirt.....you could consider adding the plain fabric to the top of the skirt and then the elephant fabric would remain the star of the garment 🤔🤔..just a thought ...I enjoyed your vlog 😊

I think I'm going to add to the top and bottom - just need to decide on a fabric now!

Hi Laura, with your first dress alteration, could you un pick the side seams from the bottom right through the underarm & sleeve? If you could find some solid fabric to match the dark green back ground, you could add a couple of inches to the width of the top. Maybe add the same fabric & make it into a peplum top. The placket at the front could also be replaced in this same fabric. In my head it would look fantastic!!! Sue (Australia) 😊

That's not a bad idea! I think I'm going to leave the bodice until I've stopped breastfeeding so I can make a more informed decision!

I love the idea of needle felting onto an existing garment, but would be worried about the felting shrinking in the wash...I think I'd do a bit on some scrap fabric first and sling it in the wash a few times first just to see how it reacts. I might actually try this soon as I've a very plain sweater that needs some pazazz!

Yes I think I'll give it a go. I wouldn't be sad about adding another hand wash garment to my wardrobe as I have a few now

Personally I don't wear jumpsuits because of the toilet issue! Is there any way you could turn your Zadie (which is glorious btw) into a Co-ord set? Otherwise your idea of turning into a wrap dress is probably the best option! Now I've got to drum up the enthusiasm to alter or refashion the five or six I have languishing in my sewing room...

I'm not sure I'd wear either part of a co-ord set , I think the bodice would be too short and the trousers too.... Pj? I had wondered about shorts. Maybe a playsuit version might work? I'm going to get it out later and play I think

I'm not sure I have the patience to cut out felt Dino's 🫣 but I definitely don't know how to tackle it!

I think alterations are hard for me because.. what if you make it worse and then you can’t fix it and then that lovely fabric can’t be used again! Or well that’s what I worry about! Also, what about making the elephant fabric into a jacket with the elephants in the back. And why not make the Sadie jumpsuit into a pair of pants and a separate shirt.

I am tempted by a pair of elasticated shorts - they'd be pretty statement but still fairly wearable with the colours I think?
