God and Sinners Reconciled- that is what the cross is about! We are brought into right relationship with God through His Son, and are empowered to live a holy life by the Holy Spirit.

@Alister Barrett King reconcile means to coexist and to live together in harmony. God commands us to repent. The cross is about Jesus dying for the sinners so that they may die for Him..we are commanded to deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow Him. How can we pick up our cross without a death to ourselves. That's what baptism symbolizes.. that we are dead with Christ. The Bible says we have no fellowship (reconciliation) with the unfruitful works of darkness.

I would encourage you to read Romans 5:10 and 2 Corinthians 5:20. Your definition of reconciliation is not what the Bible means at all! The Bible uses the word in a way which describes the removal of enmity between two enemy parties. You are right in that God cannot coexist with sin. He does command us to be holy. But amazingly, 2 Corinthians 5:18 says 'God... has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation'. I will leave it there.
