Thrawn joining at this time and immediately noticing the war was a game makes total sense. I feel once he joined the Empire eventhough Thrawn saw the issues with it his pride got in the way so when he started loosing instead of switching sides for the sake of his people he doubled down. I think if he joined the republic he would have defended it from becoming the Empire, again since he doesn't like loosing. Especially how impressed he was with the Jedi, if they weren't purged he would have seen them as the strongest ally, although flawed as well. Thrawn using the Art in palpatine's office and using the force blocking lizard to kill him was nice touch.

Interesting interesting, I can see Dooku having a good ending here, actually having a chance to try what he wanted with helping the people, and falling away from the Dark side, back towards the light, or at least a grey area. This one could definitly have a part 2.

Honestly you did a pretty good job here. Extremely intelligent characters are not the easiest to write. When it comes to writing intelligence there are two extreme ways it can be, and often is, written. Provide too much information or provide little to no information. Give too much context for the intelligent characters thought process. And thus why they made a certain or came to a certain conclusion. Or give too little context. We don't need, or want, every last detail of how Thrawn came to his conclusions or decisions. We just need, and want, just enough. You provided just enough. And in way that makes sense.

I feel this story and theory is honestly worth a part 2 or a sequel of some sort. This seems like such a unique and interesting what if with Thrawn in it, I can't help but wanna see what's next for the story. Maybe the Yuuzhan Vong, for the sake of this story, arrives at the SW galaxy much earlier than in the stories, and we get Republic and Separatists, clones and droids, teaming up to stop thid new threat to the Galaxy, with Thrawn, Anakin, Ahsoka, maybe even Dooku and the other Jedi, at the helm of it.

Here’s the thing I think he won’t like Anakins impulsive behaviour and act, but at the same time knows how much of an assets he is due to his prowess in combat, as well as a lot of his impulsive actions seemingly paying off a lot. He would probably focus on talents like him, keeping them safe (like from corrupt people and what missions he sends them on) as well as try to manipulate anakin into training harder and focusing learning therefore making him more powerful (not only him but other talents like Kenobi who he will like)

I highly doubt anything would’ve changed, Thrawn would be as Tarkin was. A genius and tactical strategist - one who may have been ruthless against the Jedi when Order 66 was ordered due to studying the religion. He wouldn’t have had Jedi command him rather he would command them, using strategy with the Jedi antics into account (as shown when he had to deal with a Jedi clone and his insane antics). He would acknowledge the strength of the Jedi and possibly give respect - when it is earned (as shown when Thrawn worked with Vader and eventually worked it out that Vader was Anakin and tried to get Vader to admit Anakin and Vader were one in the same).

What if Thrawn and the crew of the chimera joined the rebel alliance or the resistance? lets say when Thrawn was asked to help with the rebels by governor price it's the nail in the coffin for him how inept the rest of Empire is besides himself, and he becomes further impressed by the rebels an decides join. Or he could join when he discovers agent kallus is a spy or he decides to subvert the Empire from within. Or he has a change of heart when he is exiled in the unkown regions and joins with ezra and ezra summons the purgill to bring them back or when Ahsoka shows up they all return and become New Republic allies or returns home until he comes back to eventually help fight the first order.

Thrawn isnt Evil, he just wanted to be sure that the empire never expanded to be a threat to his people. At least thats my take on it. Palpatine kept having a vision a vision of a threat coming from outside his Galaxy and wanted to build an empire that was ready for it. (Fuck disney for shutting down the EU BTW The Yuzong Vong war would be where the heroes would be right now at the actors ages, It would be amazing to bring that to the big screen. Jacen and Jaina Solo along with Ben Skywalker and the next generation of jedi knights would be an amazing place to start the new series of stories without the older characters.)
