I love that you share ALL aspects of a home bakery business- the good, bad, and ugly. And you show us how to move forward if things don’t go as planned. I’ll take truth over the perfection that a lot of videos portray.

@@TheStationBakery As for your baking strips, you can use wet paper towels wrapped in foil. That way you can make them the exact size of your pans.

I use Cake Strips on everyone of my cakes. I don't use tall pans though. Maybe strap 2 on to fill that space. You have to squeeze out some water, I notice yours were dripping. Once you get the straps the size of the pan, slide that unattached loop to the end to hold the extra piece of strap down so it's not flapping and burn. They will start to turn brown but doesn't bother them. I have used mine for a year.

Thank you so much for helping me with this! 🙌🏽 I didn’t know the loops could move and that would have definitely helped.

And I considered using two straps but thought it would be ok…it was not 😂

Yes!! What Mitzie said... I dont know if you will need to use 2 or not b/c your pans are 3" tall but for sure you do ring them out so they are just damp and slightly cool. Not ice cold. Not sure what temp yours were. I like the cake strips but I dont think they are hugely necessary when using a fat daddios pan. I also wabted to add that when you get the fat daddios pans they suggest that you bake at 25 degrees less than the usual temp b/c they are anodized pans. So that also may help ya a bit if you didn't know that already. I just assumed you do b/c you are so knowledgeable in the baking field.

@@jamifitz thank you so much Jamie! I actually did not know about baking at 25 degrees lower when using fat daddios ! I actually did try to bake 25 degrees lower a while back but the cakes came out weird and I didn’t want to spend the time to figure out why so I just went back to the normal temp. I am going to experiment more with it lower. Thank you so so much!

I use the 3in tall fat dadio cake pans and only ever use 1 strip.

I love cake strips! But I also use 2 inch cake pans. I remove excess water. Not sure if it helps but I soak them in hot/warm water. Idk why but it made sense to me. Kinda like ban Marie. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve also taken breaks this time around and being more selective in the cakes I want to make.

I think maybe you need smaller strips, those are more for 8in and larger. I have both the smaller ones and the bigger ones-I love using them.. And I think your lemon cake looked funny simple because of the acid in the lemon🤷♀️. I hope you find a style your are totally happy with! Sending you good vibes and support from a fellow Texan😊.

I agree, I purposely didn't take orders during Valentine's and I'm not advertising for Mother's Day. I just need a break, but have still been busy with creating Treat Tables for events/parties and also running my 360 video booth business.

I love the idea of using fake floral on cakes but I have trouble finding info on how to properly do so, like how to clean them and do you need to wrap the ends or can you stick them in the cake. What’s right and wrong. Maybe one day you can share your tips! Thanks 💕

Did you soak the strips? If sinking in the middle maybe adjust temp down.

How much cake mix do you put into the cake pan to make sure it doesn’t run over? For the cake that you didn’t use the cake strips?
@TheStationBakery Жыл бұрын
It depends on the recipe but usually about 3/4ths full.
