A 51 year old Seattle man here in a small town in Panama. My wife who is from here, goes to catholic church with our kids (common here) and today on Father's day she ordered a mass for Chris. This is where they say prayers for those who've passed. I'm at home shedding some tears. This is the second time I've watched this. Thank you.

Prophet Cholestroll صلى الله عليه وسلم Not necessary to bring up at an occasion like this.
@aynsleighmalayne35584 жыл бұрын
Prophet Cholestroll صلى الله عليه وسلم I’ve followed and carefully researched him with a fine tooth comb, and he wasn’t mocking of the Lord. He was deeply inspired by the Bible and he did repent and was baptized. Songs like JCP is about ppl and their hypocrisy. Chris was a believer and had his children baptized, he lived his life aspiring to be the best he could after he got himself together. A light, thoughtful and careful to other’s feelings and he endured more than most will ever know or understand. He wasn’t a god and I don’t idolize or idol worship anyone, only the Lord thy God. Believe me, I’m very careful in whom I listen to or support. Chris wasn’t of darkness and didn’t promote it. His fighting against it is what contributed to his demise, that’s all I’ll say. I just hate for ppl to be misunderstood, especially when they’re not here to explain. For his status, he was quite humble and made time for his fans. He was a respectful and it’s a shame he didn’t have that opportunity to grow and show his light more. Peace and God bless.

He’s known as the hardest working drummer in ‘rock’ (for want of a better word in these post-rock times) If you work hard you get rewarded. Quite simple really Always fascinated me that he’s machine like and accurate yet still decorates the canvas with soulful details, not to mention those times he pulsed a freaky beat on Soundgarden tracks like Superunknown and JC Pose, doesn’t really get to do that much with Pearl Jam, bit more traditional.

@@michaelp8481 this is so untrue. Temple of The Do just hited the world, and MTV started playing Hunger Strike after PJ blowed the world with Ten. Eddie was a great friend for Chris. His kids calls Eddie uncle. Chris had his problems and treatments and Soundgarden broke-up, then Audioslave, then Soundgarden again, having lots of new friends, like Chester and others. You people have to stop hating Eddie for free. He is not responsable for Andy’s death. The guys needed to go on, they called outsider Eddie, who’s an amazing person, friend and musician. The guys loves him as a brother. You can’t blame him for being much succesful than Chris. That happens. It was the moment for singing Jeremy, Alive, Even Flow… people needed this, and they did. How old were you when it happened? I was 13-14, suffering because I was bullyied at high-school, I lost the love of my life, then the other love of my life, and I needed Black and Oceans so much you’ve couldn’t know how. Stop hating Eddie for being alive. I don’t see anyone hating Jerry Cantrell for that. He moved on. I don’t see people hating Dave Grohl for forming a new band just one year after Kurt’s suicide. Eddie keeps PJ together for 30 years. Helped the guys beeing sober, recieved Matt when Soundgarden cracked in 98… Do I have to say more? Can you explain why do you think Eddie was such a bad friend/person?

Such a tender time in music. Meaning when Temple came out shortly after Andrew Wood's death. What is so great about Seattle is all of these incredible artists supported each other. Seattle really just had each others' backs. They could have been competitive, but they weren't. Clearly still do. They were in it for exalting music. That effort will last forever. So clearly standing the test of time now here in 2022. And, Mike McCready rips. Dear lord, brain melting guitar work here.

Well that is still heart wrenching to watch. I wish Chris could reach down and pick the crowd up...that unfortunately and untimely he left behind. I don't think Chris even knew his own impact on so many peoples lives. There are 3 INCREDIBLE bands out there with NO FRONT MAN that we'll never hear from again. They can NOT replace Chris...HUGE...THEY BEST NOT TRY IT!!! To top it off poor Eddie Vedder and members of Pearl Jam. I can't go see them or watch them. Cause at some point Ed's probable gonna get emotional. They were headed into the studio to make their new album in 2017 or 18. Welp, 2 years later Jeff Ament just said recently, "We have zero plans when it comes to us going into a studio and putting out a new album. Chris's passing has been terribly hard on all of us. I don't see that changing anytime soon". So from fans, bandmates to other bands we're ALL still aching from OUR loss of The FABULOUS Chris Cornell. RIP...Rock In Peace, doll! You're SO MISSED!~

@niles gardner I just came across this video, thus your comment. Re "I'll never understand why." PRAY YOU NEVER DO. Here's the thing... I REFUSE to comment on conspiracy/alternate theories. None of us can really KNOW what happened, LOGISTICALLY. But I can tell you this. When someone is in THAT MUCH PAIN. When they are that far down in a hole that there is just no light remaining. When someone is CRAVING CRAVING CRAVING not to END their life but to END the pain... you just don't know what can happen. Only people who have been there could possibly explain in. And in the case of guys like Chris, or Chester, or Scott or any number of Angels we've lost... we're talking near genius levels of creativity (and I say "near" only to leave a little room for standard deviation. I believe Chris to be a genius). To be able to access that stuff. The part of your conscious where that kind of genius lives... well that's also where all the darkness lives. The pain. Most people repress pain as a defense mechanism and often do not have to deal with it again. When you have to access that repressed place, when that is your craft so you seek to access that repressed place, you will be exposed repeatedly to everything that haunts you, no matter how big or small. So while you say you'll never understand, know that's because you weren't meant to. And hopefully you never will. Much love. xo

Jennifer Pricci I’ve been there, and it’s not a choice; we are all wired differently, and for some people that “darkness” is like a shadow that comes out of nowhere (usually during the teens) and never goes away. Usually dealing with it only gets harder over time, and I think that exactly what happened to Chris...😢

@@kiekko673 I think there was more to his death than his dark place of ingenuity! Why in the world did he have 9 broken ribs? You don't get broken ribs by hanging oneself! I agree that he was a genius & that he had his own struggles with that but I just do not think he would leave his children so selfishly because he adored his children. He was a figure in life that shined and was in his own right, an angel and he may rest now but there, I believe, is more to his untimely death than we know! I believe he & Chester both knew something.

Deborah Champeau I bought Superunknown the day it came out, and it’s all there; the deep, deep depression. He shouldn’t have had kids, and that’s he’s only flaw. Shouldn’t have never married his second wife either; if you marry a Greek woman, you’re getting her mother as well, and in this case, they were both super materialistic and loved the Hollywood lifestyle, which is the total opposite of what Chris Cornell was as a human being, and I think he was kinda trapped; he was a gentle, sensitive guy, and they probably abused him quite a bit. Anyway, I still think it was a suicide. Peace.

Omg... Just realized this was his last performance. He died that night. Makes Eddie's last statement so heartbreaking. I've owned a few audioslave CDs that I've enjoyed over the years but never paid much attention to whose who in the band- raising a family and all that life business. I just know i loved his voice. Now the kids are grown and I'm a new widow, the music has been saving me from severe depression, strangely enough. Rediscovered a lot of older music AIC, DOTN, and EVERYTHING Chris Cornell had his hands on, which turns out to be a lot. On top of my own personal grief for my sweet husband, i also grieve for Chris. For Layne. And for the others whose lives were lost to drugs and suicide, as well as Travis Meeks, whose incredible gift was stolen by drugs as well. I'm so sad, but blessed to have their music.

The GOAT
