Last year Steve did a video near my friends' childhood home, and when my friends' mom mentioned noticing "A homeless person sleeping in the tree-heavy area behind them the other week", I showed her the video and told her it may just have been a youtuber. There's a homeless guy in the woods by my house in Northern Illinois. Me and a few others have him pretty well equipped. Tent, sleeping bag, stove, utensils, warm clothes, gloves, sox, etc. His biggest challenge has been keeping his water from freezing. I gave him an insulated bag, but it won't work longer than a day or 2. We'll figure it out. Anyway, he's a fan of yours.
@brucehalleran11497 күн бұрын
Too late for this year, but ground tie the water bottle. Dig a hole, big enough. Cover with leaves. A bit of plastic can improve the insulation. Fire stones cycled through the hole can keep this going into January. Eventually you have to sleep with your water bottle. This trick also reduces the hot plastic tea effect in the summer.

For most of my life I’ve always looked at bushes, scrubby little forests on the side of highways, and little hidden spots behind buildings and stuff and thought “huh, I could hide there if I needed to for some reason”. This series kinda confirms for me that I’m not the only one with this compulsion!

You might consider a red lens flashlight. If the light is red, it diffuses faster, so its harder to be observed from a distance. Not only that it won't ruin your night vision. Even just putting a red bulb in a regular flashlight will do the same thing.

It is honestly a cool feeling to have your little spot where you even feel comfortable to leave your stuff if necessary and explore around and go back to a hidden spot to sleep where there might be a lot going on around but nobody can see you.
