Get a childproof cover for your pool as well as a fence! I speak from experience! In 1989 my then 19 month old daughter was a near drowning. She was revived, but it left her 100% disabled. We had locks on the door and on the gate, but unfortunately, they both got left open on accident and she made her way to the pool! I had my hands full with 6 y/o twins that I was getting ready for school, and a 3 week old baby! I know your kids are older, but kids their age have drowned too, plus you have little nieces and nephews! You just never know!! It's worth the extra money, plus, the pool cover will keep your pool clean and warm!! Blessings!!

I am so sorry for your experience. I have to say I agree with you. Here in South Australia, the number of households with a pool is very high, due to the hot climate. Even with high locks on the doors of a house, it is illegal to not have a pool fence.

​@mtilford Yes same in Western Australia. We have a pool with automatic closing gates which by law has to be inspected every 5 years by our local council. Also any window that opens into the pool area has to either have a lock that only allows it to open a little bit or a crim safe thickend flyscreen. They are very tough over here on pool laws and regulations and for good reasons.❤🇦🇺

In Australia you would have to have a fence around the pool. Even in your fenced in backyard you would have to have a non claimable fence and a child proof gate and lock. It can’t have anything around the fence that someone climb to get into the pool. Very strict (and needed) pool laws in Australia.

The most dangerous time for drowning is when the parents think their children are napping. You have to fence that pool put in an alarm. Put locks at the top of the doors you got to make that safe because when your back is turned while you're golfing they could be in the pool and you would never know

Swimming lessons are one of the best things you can give your kids! We never had a pool, but swam every summer at the local pool and on vacation. Some adults struggle to go on a boat because they don’t have water skills. Great job Mom and Dad!! So much family fun!

Automatic drip systems make keeping your plants, shrubs, trees properly watered a no brainer. No dragging a hose round and you can go away without worrying about things. You can even control remotely using your phone with some systems. Just a thought 😊 🌱

They don’t have to mention a fence they are talking about safety and that all that matters plenty of other ways to make the pool safe and they are working on figuring it out but don’t need people hounding them every single video! It take time to get saftey things installed like fence it doesn’t happen in a day it can take weeks as most companies are busy so until they can get something worked out they have added extra locks to their door

I went to Dollywood for the first time in my life at 43 this part Saturday. Some friends took me for my birthday. I an not a roller coaster fan but I rode 3. And loved them. No big ones though lol. I narrated the Big Bear ride in nervous chatter and didn't realize the whole ride heard me. They were dying laughing at me at the end!

Tips for pool…we always had a rope across so the kids would definitely know where deep end was, we have a chain link fence but now days they have a folding fence which would be good for you cuz it’s still open… 3 I always kept lifesaver rings around and a couple of pool noodles in pool Pool looks beautiful. We had solar cover…loop lock cover for NY winter

I live in Knoxville but grew up in South Florida, surrounded with water. My mom put me in swimming classses at two. Knew how to float on my back & swim to the side by 3. Both of my children were taught to swim as toddlers as well. I never had to worry much after then. They are 29 & 26 now...best thing I ever did for them.

My family had a Bubble over our pool so we could swim in the winter time in Michigan. In side of the Bubble it was heated and it had a blower to make sure that the Bubble stayed up when you entered inside the Bubble. We had a blast swimming in the winter time. It felt like a sauna inside the Bubble,so you never felt the winter coldness. Love your backyard ❤

Pools in Tennessee must be enclosed by a safety barrier that is at least 48 inches above the ground. The maximum vertical clearance between the fence and ground should not exceed 2 inches and the fence must not have any footholds or handholds that would enable a child to climb over the fence.

Please, please, please put a safty fence around your pool. My friends grandson knew how to swim at 4 yrs old. But when no one was close by he fell into the pool hitting his head on the pool wall. He lived with severe brain damage until he was 16 yrs old until he passed away. Please think of safty first for your Beautiful Adorable children or anyone's child who comes to visit.
