They mightn't have been the best band ever.... but they definitely were the coolest. Ian Brown wasn't the greatest singer live, sometimes he was terrible... but he had a swagger and a stage presence attitude that said I don't care. The band we'd all dream to be in...

I like this version! I do on the other hand prefer the shorter version because I like the Wah-Wah guitar. Over all though, you really can't go wrong with either song. The long intro makes this song just as good though. I will never understand why The Stone Roses were never bigger than they were. Especially in America!

America had grunge and alternative breaking..while some of those bands were interesting, we missed out on Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Stone Roses, loads of interesting acts from the UK. Where i lived in California for a red-hot minute, Love Spreads was big, but not long after Cobain killed himself and Rap and HipHop broke through. This song was and still is my favorite by Stone Roses though... brilliant!
