Now... this show is like a love letter to a lifetime of devotion. For me... this show has been better than even Empire. Just perfect in every way! This is what we needed to end 2020. After the last 3 films and what they did to Luke and the others this was cathartic for millions of fans. My wife and I were shaking and crying. So good!

My dad is a huge muscle of a guy, full tattoo's, biker. I've seen him cry twice in my life. The first time was when they told my mom her breast cancer had returned, and the second time was the moment he saw the green lightsaber.

This is the Luke as Jedi Master moment I wanted from The Last Jedi, which of course we didn't get. We were all given a big Christmas gift.

Your "If I have to explain, you won't understand." line are the words every true Star Wars fan can agree with. We all cried...I think I'm gonna go watch again, right now, and go cry again.

I'm not that invested, but seeing how hard-core fans have reacted with literal tears rolling down their faces, I have to recognise the power OF THE FORCE. It's a beautiful thing to see how much you all love Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker. It is also a tribute to the power of storytelling. Hey can we all start some sort of movement to get The Mandalorian shown in cinemas? I'd pay to see it on a big screen, and it deserves it...

I've been watching (and re-watching, and re-watching) reactions to this episode for over a month now, and this is hands-down the best one. This reaction is 100% genuine, SO nerdy, and perfectly encapsulates what's so incredible about Star Wars when it's at its best. When I hear you say "If I have to explain... it's not something you will understand," I laugh out loud because one really couldn't put it any better. People LOVE this character in a way that really isn't comparable to any other character in the Western media canon. How many of you reading this remember, viscerally, the time(s) you went as Luke for Halloween? How many of you could draw his lightsaber by memory? How many of you as kids (or maybe as adults) can admit to looking at an object across the room, reaching out your hand, and willing it to come to you, wanting nothing more than do be like Luke Skywalker? This character is truly transcendent for the way he affected and continues to affect peoples lives--people of all colors and backgrounds, man or woman, across generations. The Luke Skywalker of the first three films taught us that even the humblest of backgrounds can't stop someone from making cosmic impacts. He taught us that perseverance, belief, and love are more powerful than a galactic empire. He also taught us that we all need help, and that talent without training (without discipline, without humility, without failure) is nothing. "That is Luke. That is OUR Luke," he says. Your damn right. This is the Luke people feel OWNERSHIP over, because he's been integral to our lives and to the people we've become since we first fell in love with him. The character is a part of us. So can you really blame us for wanting to see Luke in his prime? For feeling like he deserves transcendent, all-powerful moments because of what he's meant to us for so many years? Again, if we have to explain, it's not something you will understand. Just watch this video--watch this video and trust that what Luke Skywalker means to this kid is what he means to millions of Star Wars fans around the globe. Forgive me for the snark, but I can't help but imagine JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson watching this video and thinking, "Ohhhhhh... I think we get it now."
