They took it out of the regular 3 series though. M2 M3 and M4 are the only manual BMWs left. Next gen M cars might not even have it. Respect to BMW but they will kill the manual soon too. Honda type R will be the next victim maybe. 10 years from now Porsche will probably be the very last holdout. It'll be a bunch of electric Porsche SUV, sedan, and maybe even Boxter models plus the 911 soldiering on as the last manual transmission car in the world.

@@astronmr20 Issue with the MX-5 is it just isn't a very practical car. As recently as 5 years ago, you could get a F30 320i which is a proper RWD 6 speed manual sports sedan for $35,000. It's just under 200 hp, but it's a detuned version of the regular BMW 2.0 turbo so if you really want a bit more speed, a relatively cheap Dinan tune will get you to near the same power as a 330i with no reliability hit or voided warranty. But that's gone. Even a couple of years ago, you could get the Accord 2.0 Turbo with 250 hp and a 6 speed, but that's gone too. For regular cars that are also practical, we're down to the Mazda3 non turbo and hopefully the upcoming Civic Si, which come with manuals. No joke I'm seriously considering buying one of those 2 cars in about 5 years or whenever their final model year with the manual transmission so I can have something to teach my son how to drive a manual just like when I learned on a manual years ago.

@@ezrapardede1921 I've got a civic second lowest trim and it's got a height adjuster. It's a manual crank and it seems to take you on a diagonal, not straight up and down, but I gets the job done. I can't beleive there's cars that don't have at least that.

Not gonna lie, I love rev matching manuals. I had a 370z sport tech and it was one of my favorite features. Made it so easy to drive and honestly more fun to push hard. Kinda bridges the gap between auto and manual. And I don’t feel like I’m tearing up the car with my shite heel-toes

12:24 if you are finding yourself risking getting into the reverse channel, you're probably just gripping the shifter too hard. You don't need a strong grip. Hold it loosely and with a grip that wraps around from the side.

I have an G80 M3 and it is scary fast. The car actually scares me in sport mode. It’s definitely a vibe/experience, Im still not used to it even after a week of ownership. I don’t usually drive with both hands but this car is different.

I still prefer older M3s a lot. The V8 E92 M3 mostly. This car does look good, especially from the back. I love manual cars, so if I was getting a new manual sports car .. I'd definitely pick up this or the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. And I'm a huge Bmw fan, but something about that new Cadillac just seems very boss. I think I'd spend the extra money for the Cadillac. I’ve owned 2 M3 6spd manuals (E46 and E92) and they’re maunuals from the factory also weren’t that great. Very rubbery, very loose. They need to be upgraded for sure. In my E46 M3, I got the Autosolutions SSK with a ZHP illuminated weighted leather shift knob, and for the E92 M3 I got the UUC Motorwerks SSK and kept the OEM shift knob. Major positive differences in how the car shifted! Expensive, yes, but well worth it.

I love my new M3 manual, it has some interior issue’s that piss me off sometimes like the front seats eat up everything from your pockets. The cold & hot seats are annoying to turn on as they both share a button. Also I hate where they put the traction control button as it’s easy to accidentally turn it off. Ohh and I wish you could see your gears on the heads up display other than in just m-dynamic mode. Other than those things I mentioned the car is amazing. Great handling great on gas if you don’t push it constantly. The other day I was playing early 90’s music and completely got that 80’s/90’s manual bmw feel. Great great car.

Is there an “adaptive cruise” option on the manual like there was on the Honda Accord manual (it obviously doesn’t do stop and go, but is helpful on the highway)?

Then I'm afraid you'll have to upgrade to the competition version, because the base M3 is not offered with an automatic transmission. Besides, it is expected that BMW will launch the M3 in March 2022 in India. Whether the competition version will be released alongside remains to be seen.

rev matching is off in sport+ mode (throttle) for the F80. you do not need to turn the traction off or even be in MDM. i drive one and hate this feature.

there's one thing I don't understand about the M3: Why didn't they took the front of the normal 3 series and made it sportier? All BMW's have rubbery sticks and clutches. You can fix that by changing out by going with a shorter shifter or changing the shifting mechanism. You can change the clutch engagment feel by adding a spacer. These two quick changes dramatically change the feel of the manual. Still not as good as Honda's shifters though (particularly the s2000)
