I love how the Strokes got tired of being a band and then each branched out with their own solo shit (which is all good btw); only to come back stronger than before with music that is informed by each of their solo endeavors. Not many bands are capable of that.

when you realized that future present past stands for the styles of the songs on the ep future: 1. drag queen (tyranny-esque type of a song) present: 2. oblivius (comedown machine mixed with angles) past: 3. threat of joy (sounds like their first two albums) it doesn't hurt either that the songs are in the exact order in the ep :))

The way the bass/voice/guitar just skip along together through the chorus is wonderful enough, but to have Julian's voice floating over the top of it is just *Chef's Kiss* And then they manage to top that with the outro, and you realise the song's been on repeat for a long while and you're still enjoying it. God damnit the part at 2:29 really really reminds me of a similar part from another strokes song but i can't for the love of god think of it.

When it started. The part where he sings, "anything they wanted, they could, have it, have it.

I love this EP. Of course I am a big fan of the Strokes so I've waited for this for a while, but the integrity in the music is so profound. Thank You guys for continuing to work together and creating something beautiful for all of us listeners.
