We lived in Mangatarem for two separate years, in 1997-98 and in 2007-08 for work assignments. It wasn't yet as progressive as it is today. It's the first and last town of Pangasinan depending on wether you're coming in or going out of the province via Sn. Clemente-Camiling, Tarlac route. Majority of the people are ilocanos. It's the largest town of Pangasinan in terms of land area but not in terms of population and economy. Mangatarem is the rice granary of the province and it's where you can find the Manleluag (the locale term for "boiling") Hot Spring Park and the becoming famous Daang Kalikasan. One of the native delicasies Mangatarem is known for is it's delicious tupig..❤
