Ironically, they used mostly tiny amps here. Which they only seem to do when they know the venue is on point. I can remember being a band and absolutely needing to have a half-stack. I was a bass player though, and it was a metal band so I wanted hear the guitar players telling me to turn it down a notch for once :)

There is something so special about this performance. The more I listen to/watch it the more I want to see/hear it again. It is just so heart-felt and moving. This band has obviously reached that pinnacle where true magic can happen in performances. I have just ordered 4 of their albums on the basis of watching this, as well as other KZbin offerings: KEXP in Seattle, and other early and excellent performances on the starsandspit KZbin channel. I am loving this band -- thank you so much for sharing this.

I've always felt the same also! When I first moved to Toronto in 2005 and EVERYBODY was talking about them, I tried and tried to get into them, but nothing really took. It was during a time when I felt like I was loosing touch with current music and thought I was just getting old, and didn't understand it, as with alot of music during that time, plus I was in a seriously dark time in my life where I felt completely lost for a number of years. Listening to it now though, I really like it! It sounds much better than I remember the records sounding!! What a fucking set! Love BSS. I remember first hearing You Forgot it in People. I got it from the library after hearing Stars and Sons on the radio. Mind was blown. It opened up a whole new world of music for me. Also, my ears never stopped ringing after a BSS show at the Kool Haus.
