We sort of learn about this in As level psychology in social influence but it’s interesting hearing it from a different viewpoint.

In regards to alternate possibilities, what if a person only sees one possibility when in reality there were multiple (they just saw it as not viable, impossible etc.)? Would they then be held morally responsible? I know that this is very relevant in law and crime when a person genuinely did not see another possibility. Or would this cornering be the product of previous choices that has led them down this path? If it was due to previous choices, then that choice whether made internally or caused externally becomes more important. I guess it raises the question of when the 'first choice' was made, which intuitively would be through free will. But I also find it hard to believe that people are just born to become murderers and other unfortunate ends, because I do believe that they have some choice in whether they become that or not. I wonder if studies show that even though certain results may share characteristics, not 100% of people with those characteristics end with that result. I don't know if I'm going in circles or this is just incredibly confusing, but I've been thinking about this in the context of daily life and different types of people and I can't seem to appease myself. I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on this. Really enjoyed the video, Mani!
