Yeah I remember stating this months ago that obi wan was sensing Sidious’s pulling the dark side cloak over the Jedi it was that one part “it’s something elsewhere …… elusive” I think HE was one of the ONLY Jedi that sensed The shroud of the dark side or the dark side of Sidious working as they were so far away from Corisaunt but also because he was so Finley attuned to the force. when you read the book “Padawan“ you understand Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s mind and how he overcame all of his overthinking and how he began to centre himself in the Force & as a Padawan/Jedi

I can't resist! Was he 'in the zone' when, right after having told Anakin to always hang on to his lightsabre, he goes and drops his own? It really is amazing how fanboys can deceive themselves, watch films that *repeatedly* show Obi-Wan screwing up, yet still see him as not only competent but great, perhaps even the greatest! If I didn't find it so frustrating it would be hilarious.
@wtfamiactuallyright18235 ай бұрын
60% of the time, he's still in the zone, everytime... You could pin this on the force, having a laugh at Obi's expense. The highest med count on record for Anakin and he still screws up, Obi beat him. I love Obi because he is great, faults and all, as is the case for all great characters. 😉
@KeldorDAntrell5 ай бұрын
@@wtfamiactuallyright1823 so he's NOT "perpetually in the zone", is he? He drops his lightsabre several times. Pin it on the force having a laugh at his expense? You're the one having the laugh. The force is just a force, not a sentient thing; and jedi are supposed to be masters of controlling it, not being controlled *by* it. Even if the force was sentient, why would it make Obi-Wan screw up? And why wouldn't Obi-Wan warn Anakin that the force sometimes makes one screw up? The med count is usually misunderstood and you misunderstand it. It is a measure of the strength of the force user's *connection* to the force. It is *not* a measure of the force user's mastery of it. Think of it like a radio signal. The jedi with a strong radio signal to the force will find it easier to communicate what he wants it to do for him. This is why all jedi are generally equally qualified i.e. Obi-Wan, with a relatively low Mid count needs to learn to reach out and connect to the force before he can use it (like a person having to spend a few moments tuning his radio into the station he wants to listen to) while Anakin, with a massive Mid count, has no such trouble tuning in to the force. So there's the difference. Anakin tells the force to lift him up and over Obi-Wan in their fight. It responded *instantly* because his connection to it was so strong but it wasn't sufficient for Anakin's needs in that moment - no jedi, no matter how powerful, can squeeze a lot of force energy out of a little. Obi-Wan, in The Phantom Menace, needed to jump up to the platform where Darth Maul was. He concentrated momentarily (tuning in and sending his request of the force to his midichlorians) and because there was plenty of force available around him, he succeeded in leaping up far higher than Anakin had to to leap over Obi-Wan during their fight. So, it's about connection signal, not ability. I have no problem with anyone loving Obi-Wan, just with them mistaking him for a great jedi. He's a failure and I could give you at least 50 irrefutable examples from the films that prove it including him admitting it at least twice. Take for example, his (admittedly wonderfully entertaining) fight with Jango Fett. He showed us how the jedi can repel a blaster shot with their bare hands (with the force, to be more precise) but he was sorely tested by Jango. Mace Windu, in contrast, killed Jango like he was barely an inconvenience. Note that Yoda *commanded* Obi-Wan to bring him in for questioning. He did *not* say, "Try to capture him for questioning. Do you think you can handle that?" The reason Yoda didn't ask him if he could handle it was that he knows that Obi-Wan holds the rank of knight and therefore should be perfectly capable of succeeding. However, in the case of Obi-Wan, Yoda was actually *hoping* that he could succeed since he knew that Obi-Wan was *granted* the title of knight *without ever having passed the trials* that are usually demanded of any padawan seeking promotion. Any other jedi knight would not have struggled with Jango. As good as he is, he's not got the force.

Maybe it's like this one's overall miniclorien count doesn't matter, solong as they have a serene state of mind at the point of action/reaction they'll always receive more "the force flows into him" sounds to me that irregardless of the overall permanent count you have you'll always receive more when you act to carry out the will of the force more will always support you and this is what happens with Obi wan and I think the count realizes this.

At the end of the day, Obi-Wan has learned to just allow the force to use him how it sees fit, and if he should fall that day, then it does not matter because that it was the wheel of the force he steps in into every battle with the will and determination, body act as the avatar of the force at that time. This perspective makes me curious how his connection with the force might have changed if Duchess Satine Kryze had actually asked her 'Obi' to leave the Jedi order. He said that if she just said the words, he would have left the Jedi for her. Right before Maul killed the love of his life before his very eyes. That relationship makes me so sad, because i know Obi-Wan would have been truly happy with her away from the Jedi. Thus the question, would he still be able to maintain the perfect Jedi mindset and this insanely pure connection with the Force if whe had him leave?🎉
@risingofthethorn11976 ай бұрын
Honestly if Luke was anything to go by...yes. in fact that lack of a connection might have been the one thing he was missing to unlock ultimate power. Love (True love, not the objectifying possessive love that Anakin had) is essentially the ultimate manifestation of the Light side. It was Anakin's love for Luke that brought down Sidious and the Galactic Empire. Heck in the end of the Revenge of the Sith Novelization Matthew Stover wrote the following line. "“The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins - but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle.Love can ignite the stars.” The problem with Anakin's relationship was not love, in fact quite the opposite. He didn't really love her. He loved her as a sort of prized object a thing. Something he can call his and take ownership of. Heck if you look at TCW the two's relationship could be considered outright toxic.
@jaieregilmore9716 ай бұрын
Yeah love is ultimately benefits the light side and the Jedi greatest strength while the dark side doesn’t have any benefit all it does twisted it makes it toxic leads to Obsession. Looking at Luke and Obi wan true love it’s takes time not something to rush about like Anakin situations. It’s nothing wrong with loving Padme but it’s all about how he go about it is the problem the lack of trust,keeping the marriage secret and marrying before the war really led to emotional baggage for him. No doubt Anakin cares for Padme deeply but when he turn to the dark side love became discrimination he’s willing to kill innocents and betray his own order for so called power to save Padme but really Anakin only thought for himself like the novel said “There is no Vader it only Anakin Skywalker is you and only you”. That the trap of the Sith is selfishness.

Soresu and Obi-Wan were meant to be together. Soresu was a style based on calm defense, on letting the Force guide it, and the deeper you went into the force the calmer you got. And the calmer you got, the deeper into the force you could go. The cycle was often interrupted by the attacker, but if you START at the deepest level, your defense is already held fully by the Force. There is nowhere to attack. And while 'wait for an opening' has always been considered to be a bad fighting style (why Soresu was not considered exactly great) it was perfectly designed for Obi-Wan. Even younger and not as steeped in the force, he was already able to reach deeper levels mid-fight, which taught him to be able to reach the Force faster and faster. And it helped him to grow into what he became.

To my mind (perhaps my own head cannon 😁), I have always seen the midichlorian count as a measure of potential rather than power. Obi-Wan's Midichlorian count wasn't low, it was upper mid-range. He was very attuned to the Force, and pushed his abilities to their limits, which helped him overcome his shortcomings.

It is as any great hero.. Circumstance and choice of the correct path brings the force to you. Once you are on the path with the force, you become immovable...

My favorite jedi. Not born gifted or with royal blood, but hard work, wisdom, and strategic thinking helped manifest his true power.

With a connection this powerful and effortless, can you imagine the influence he would have on large-scale battles if he knew battle meditation?

I remember reading the book when Obi-Wan dropped down from the ceiling to face Gen Grievious. The book stated every clone fired at Obi-Wan at once from high above. Obi-Wan crouched down and created a shield completely around him. Over 2000 bolts were fired at him at once. Obi-Wan deflected every one of them without a scratch. At that point, that is when Grievious gave the cease order and decided to face Obi-Wan alone one on one.

The quintessential Jedi, who never let his ego get in the way of fulfilling the will of the Force. He worked every day to get better at being a Jedi. If his saber didn’t cut you down, his wit certainly slayed many a Jedi and Sith.

“Be mindful of the living force, my young padawan” are words that Obi-Wan definitely took to heart. It’s what enabled him to overpower and defeat Vader on the barren moon.

A line in a New Hope that stood always stood out to me is when Vader said “Kenobi is here and the force is with him”. Think about that , Kenobi obviously has the force but even Vader felt that the force was just not something Kenobi could use as a tool… but that the force was an active ally of Kenobi… and Kenobi was a part of the will of the force.

OWK is the best, fam. He held onto the Jedi ideals of compassion and justice despite everything that happened to him. Bro was too good for the Jedi Order and should've left to join Satine.

And in the book during the duel between Anakin and Dooku, Dooku describes Anakin as " there was a nuclear fire where the boys heart should be"

I think everyone can agree that if Obi Wan was gifted with shatterpoint he would have been the premiere duelist of the Jedi Order above Dooku and even Anakin
@billfred94116 ай бұрын
Well knowing shatter point wouldn't hurt. I also don't think it would have made much of a difference for him. That skill is mainly for breaking near indestructible material and nobody Obi one fights even uses such material. Vadar's armor is Plasteel and durasteel which aren't really anything special besides their slight resistance to lightsaber damage.
@rileyackison44956 ай бұрын
@@billfred9411that is only a small part of the shatterpoint ability actually. Its main focus is seeing and recognizing key points within the universe. This is what allows the user to see the small points that allow objects to shatter. Recognizing these key points extends to seeing key events approaching. I feel like I’m doing a horrible job explaining it but mace windu saw the shatterpoint surrounding anakin skywalker during his battle with darth sidious. The future of the galaxy hinged on the decision that anakin made. I feel like this part of the ability would pair perfectly with Obi-wan’s mastery of the defence form which focuses on tiring out your opponent and weathering the storm until you find that moment where their guard falters.
