Vitiate created (or rediscovered) the two most powerful rituals in Galactic History. One that granted near godlike Power, the other being a weapon so powerful only the Insane would attempt. Personally I always thought these two rituals were thought up by the 12 dark lords in theory, as they’d need hundreds of Sith Lords to attempt them and they were obsessed with knowledge not destruction. Edit: not to mention Vitiate as Tenebrae was among the last of the old Sith empire and was privy to knowledge that was lost after it fell under Naga Sadow.

if it had been a ancient sith weapon i could see the sith attempt to use it to wipe out the jedi, maybe train a group of sith assasins to specificly do the act, have them shiped to corresount secretly, and then have them do the ritual close to the jedi temple but at a deep level so the jedi wouldent be able to get there in time and then detonate the weapon. and then the next day start a massive campain aigenst the new republic that just had a large amount of the jedi been whiped out, and if not whiped out then atleast incampasetated to some degrees.
